Hello.
The German band Javan is listed as "Heavy metal", but they sound like pure AOR/melodic hard rock to me. I may be wrong, but I'll leave their material here. I wasn't able to trace their self-titled demo, however:

Deleted Dogkuff (US) - Groove/nu-metal/core
https://www.soundclick.com/artist/defau ... dID=485096
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1X5DZt5IwXE

Deleted Javan (Germany) - AOR
(all of the tracks that were on their 1989 demo were re-recorded for the '91 full-length linked above)

Deleted Prophecy (California, US) - added to research thread. No references, user has added a lot of non-metal on v1, have doubts about metalness of the release.

Vote for Ra to be deleted, Gypsyhawk to stay on the site. The consensus on the band Wreche is for them to stay.

The 2 compilation tracks that I heard from Black Jack Co. are rock/metal, not AOR at all. Wouldn't want to consider deleting them without hearing all of their songs.

Deleted Enter the Pain (Finland) - not metal

Deleted Suiced (France) - addition from user that added a lot of non-metal during version 1. Only thing that could be found is a review which describes the genre as unclassifiable, but somewhere between industrial, black metal, and noise. Moving to the research thread.

Deleted Nemesis (Puerto Rico) - minor name change to Necronemesis after one demo (format unknown), no line-up change.

Deleted Black Moon Circle (US) - their only release, "Paradise Lost" demo (format unknown, no references) contains 3 of the 4 songs that are on the Synbad "Paradise Lost" demo, but has a track titled "Outro", while the Synbad tape has a song called "Andromeda Invasion". Since the release title is the same, this is likely a re-release under their changed name. Even if it is a re-recording, the only new song offered up under the Black Moon Circle name is "Outro", which could even be "Andromeda Invasion" retitled. No logo or band photo unique to the name (different drummer, other 2 members the same).

Hello. There's a band named Jaded, from US, that's listed as "heavy metal/hard rock". However, their hard rock material seems to overweight their heavy metal elements. They kinda sound like a harder version of Valora or Vextion to my ears. The thing is that I cannot find their full-length entirely, apart from a couple of songs. Their 2010 EP, "Higher", is fully available for streaming on Youtube.

I'm curious, was their second album Pleasures and Fear evaluated before deleting them? That one is significantly harder-edged than the debut. I'm not as familiar with the last three albums since they seemed to be much weaker on first listens so maybe they're different, but on PaF, while there is definitely a fair amount of alt rock influence, it overall sounds to me more in the melodic groove metal vibe than anything nu- or -core.

Could this band be kept as a side project of Rich Ward, founder/songwriter/guitarist of Fozzy, who are on the archives?

sickspeed was not a side project of Fozzy, it was formed prior to guitarist Rich Ward joining them. it is the other way around, Fozzy was originally supposed to be a side project o sickspeed, rich War's new band after the break-up o Stuck Mojo, who originally was just a fun cover band. That said, Sickspeed were added originally jas an allegedly real "heavy metal" band and I am ppersonally strongly against returning such blatantly non-metal bands back to the site under the guise of "side projectsů" I am not a current moderator, but I applaud the staff for deleting mamany blatanly non-metal side projects in the recent years.

Do you have a source that says Ward was not a founder? Here is one that says he was.

https://www.blabbermouth.net/news/chris-jericho-no-new-fozzy-album-before-2020/

Ward may have been working on some ideas for Sickspeed first, but Fozzy's debut came out a year earlier than Sickspeed's. Technically speaking they're both side projects of Stuck Mojo chronologically, I'm just saying from the perspective of a long-standing band that is actually archived. You call it "blatantly non-metal", but it's in the ballpark of hard rock/alternative/groove metal, which is as borderline as it gets genre-wise, and presumably why they were added originally on their own merits. It's not like it's a folk or reggae outing that happened to have members of a metal band. I'm just wondering if when they were deleted if it was taken into consideration that they have strong ties to an existing accepted band, regardless of whether the music itself falls below the threshold for metal here, which is more subjective.

Jost one more thing. sickspeed and Fozzy both were formed, when Stuck Mojo wre inactive, so the are not side proects of a Stuck Mojo musician.

That depends upon what you mean by "inactive". SM was going through a lot of internal turmoil after Rising in '98, and "formed" is a bit nebulous, but Fozzy's s/t, Sickspeed's The Way I Am, and Stuck Mojo's Declaration of a Headhunter were released less than two years from each other, and regardless, Sickspeed's debut came out after Fozzy's, at which point Fozzy was still active.

ThBoth bands wre founded in 1999, all accounts point towards sickspeed being founded prior to Fozzzy.
sickspped has also changed their name in 2003 and foled away soon. https://www.blabbermouth.net/news/sick- ... e-to-cafu/
You may have already noticed , that the submission of non-metal side projects by reular users is prohibited since 2015, and that the deciosn abut slected exceptions/side projects is reverved solely to the staff. it is therefore inccomprehesible to me, that you would propose a band, that was deemed to be npnon-metal, to be re-added, just gbecause rich Ward also plays in Fozzy. That goes against what I view as a positive devolopnent in the structure of the site. It is a datadatabase of metal bands, not bands somehow related to metal musicians, after all. But the bulk of this shuld be answered by a moderrator, is I wuWill end the argument about his band. Unfortunatelym, nost momoderators are not vvisiting this thread very often recently, with the notable exception of King Spooky.

The whole argument about the date of "founding" seems rather vague and abstract if there's nothing recorded and available for purchase. The side projects rule seems more about the spirit of the law than the letter of it anyway, so the point is more about the band member relationship than the exact timeline. Musically Fozzy and Sickspeed aren't all that far apart. Sickspeed leans a bit more into their hard rock influences stylistically, but they basically have the same members as Fozzy, driven by Rich's writing and riffing, just with different vocalists (though Rich even does some vocals for both).

Vote for deletion of Vomit Slit.
Indifferent about The Dog Park Incident - there are some bands that sound more borderline than this to me that are on the site.
Jaded sounds okay to me, but if other mods think that they should be deleted, no strong opposition here.
No - Sickspeed shouldn't be kept on the site.
Yes - all the recorded works of Regardless of Me were assessed by more than one moderator, and it was agreed that they shouldn't be on the site.

There are metal elements, but not that many metal riffs here:
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Sc ... 3540271155
https://www.reverbnation.com/scottmotyka/songs

If it's to stay, perhaps the genre can be changed to Progressive Rock/Metal, Shred? There's nothing Neoclassical about it.

Deleted King Paimon X from Costa Rica. Their only release was fully stolen from Disregard's "The Art of Damnation" EP.

Deleted NightHunter X from Costa Rica. Their only release was at least partially plagiarized as well. Deleted to err on the side of caution.

Both projects "created" by the same fucking idiot.

Hi,

The label that released this is unofficial. The guy behind it told me. This band needs to be deleted for now.

This label https://www.metal-archives.com/labels/Embek_Ireng/47483 is worth looking into too. I have a strong feeling that this is also a bootleg label and many of the bands under it should be deleted.
