User djurassic https://www.metal-archives.com/users/djurassic

https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/A ... End/322769

These are not different editions! This is one release of these labels. Only 515 copies. From this it can be concluded that each of these labels released 515 copies. That's not true. It should be removed.

What is the point of typing something like this?

same as here
https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/X ... ros/869488

or here
https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/A ... %21/292602

He's been doing that for years.

This is a strange thing. And that's all? Because he has been doing this for years? So it's OK?
Here is another example that these are not different editions, but one.

https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/A ... est/968112

Several labels make one CD or 7 "EP.

https://imageshack.com/i/po5FfCJlj
or
https://imageshack.com/i/poOngwQ6j

This does not translate into any "other versions".

Could you tell Grief_Of_Adoration to stop visiting band pages adding Bandcamp as a version description? He's been doing that on a daily basis even when the release is clearly available on multiple digital outlets.

Can someone tell sharkey to stop editing lyrical themes when he clearly doesn't understand what they are?

Decrypted
-> changed from "Christianity" to "Zombies, Apocalypse". Incorrect. I know the artist personally and this is a Christian project.

Zombie Mortician
-> removed "Christianity" from the themes. Incorrect. Also Christian.

Auralian Disharmony
-> "Space, Astral Themes". Kenneth has never commented on the themes for this band, these themes cannot be verified

Darkness Cleansed
-> changed the "anti-society" part to "society". This is my own project and it's very obviously anti-society.

Koronatizor
-> added some valid things but also added "Christianity". The drummer for that band told me that that's just a fun side project, not outright Christian at all.

Not all of his contributions are wrong, but the majority are.

He also has a history of replacing the "Christianity" tag with drawn-out things like, "Christian Fundamentalism, Spiritual Warfare, Biblicism, Charismatic, Pentecostal"; or, "Dispensationalism, Millenarism, Dominion Theology, Anti-Satan, Bible, Pro-Life". Maybe this doesn't break rules but it seems unnecessary to me

... and these are just pages I visit! (For example, some of these bands work with my record label.) What else is he doing on other pages?

I do not know if this is where this comment belongs, but MA says this user has been banned, but they are adding comments to the Reports Forum that make me wonder if I will get in trouble responding to them.

https://www.metal-archives.com/users/emaleo adds line-ups with credits like "videomaker" and "solo (track 5)" (instead of Guitars (Lead) (track 5)", for.ex), and since you'll be (hopefully) schooling him it wouldn't hurt to ask where he gets some of his other lineups from. he added lineups on releases that had been without them for years...

Ignored my request for source of information, which makes me conclude he has added guesswork information to Khristgoat's page.

Alledged lyrical themes seems to have been added based on band's genre and song titles, which is unnacurate. Years active added probably based on the year the demo was recorded.

As per my research, none of these is 100% accurate and considering he ignored the report, I could tell its pure guesswork. Maybe a warning could be sent.

Is it still agreed upon to leave the country out of the version description except for Japan? Things have changed a bit after Dia and SotLB, so I'm not so sure.
If that's still the norm, please tell ordoad that what he's been doing should stop.
E.g. https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Death/Human/606
One example of many.

I resolved some of his reports and have had no trouble, so I guess it's okay, he mostly submits stuff that can be easily verified.

Nah, you won't get in trouble for that. The guy was banned for being a huge dick viewtopic.php?f=3&t=132130 and after all the shit he pulled I even find it quite hilarious that he is still bothering with filling reports. But it doesn't matter. Feel free to resolve his reports like you would resolve any normal report.

Can someone from moderators ask this user for the source of information he provided for the band Axe Giant?

https://www.metal-archives.com/users/ThePaleKing
https://www.metal-archives.com/band/view/id/3540405535

First, he added the year of creation: 2014
Then, years active: 2015-2018
And finally left the band's status as "active".

Band is inactive on their Facebook since early 2017, so probably they are on hold or split-up, but the information provided to their M-A profile are inconsistent.

The user was probably a band member, and had no bad intentions here. But still, his updates were done without proper care and lead to confusion.

IMNobody has mostly been doing a good job, and solving a ton of reports. Some of them can be pretty confusing. Will check on those 2 reports.

___________________________________
They're fixed now. It's been mentioned in the bio section that the Coffinrot releases have been made available under the Coffin Rites name, on their Bandcamp. Just explained the ctrl+U publish date Bandcamp thing to imnobody last week - this user is fairly new to the site still, but it's been nice seeing someone become active in working on the report queue. The more it gets caught up, the more smoothly that whole process can go (ideally, not having to take so long to get to some reports).

I don't doubt his work but I'm always pretty careful when resolving reports without actually fixing what was reported.

And thanks for correcting that!

User gorilla1969 should be reminded that separate digital versions of the same album are added only if the tracklist or cover artwork differ:

https://www.metal-archives.com/report/v ... /show/mine
https://www.metal-archives.com/report/v ... /show/mine

I couldn't think of a better place to discuss this, but if there is one let me know. I think there has been a bit of a misunderstanding between myself and Opsius in these two reports.

Both of these artists are in fact people I performed with when I was younger, but it was limited almost exclusively to cover songs at school and county fair talent shows.

I had a separate band with Lando that never got anywhere or released anything, and so we always were performing under whatever name the band was going by at that time, NOT as my solo project. That band never did anything of substance, so it will not ever be on the Archives.

Roo and I performed one original song together once and then never played music together again. It would be factually inaccurate to describe him as a live member for my solo project, since it was a song we wrote together and we were just calling ourselves "Ezra & Roo."

I'm not trying to whitewash my solo project page, as I have been accused of. I have nothing against either musician in question, and I believe we're all on pretty good terms with each other. All I'm trying to do is correct a mistake I made when I first submitted my solo project to this site nearly four years ago, when I had just joined and didn't fully understand what qualified someone to be listed as a live musician for a given band.

Just to reiterate, the main issue here is that we were never performing as "Ezra Blumenfeld" when I was with either musician; and when I was performing with them, it was no more my solo work than it was theirs. With Roo we were just "Ezra and Roo," and with Lando we cycled through several band names.

I hope this clears something up! Feel free to let me know if I'm way out of line or there's somewhere else I should bring this up.

Just for the record, he has done other dubious edits.

This band for example:
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Ne ... 3540494287
https://deadrecords.bandcamp.com/album/ ... m=hp_metal

Dude has set:
- Location as Chicago, Illinois (bandcamp doesn's mention such location)
- Formed in "2006" (bandcamp doesn's mention this date)

Plus it seems there's no evidence William Smith is Aboroth, as he has set.

It was determined many months ago and posted by King Spooky in May 2021 (viewtopic.php?f=3&t=64976&start=4360) that only one digital release was allowed per version, other versions were to be posted only in the notes, yet I keep finding gorill1969 adding numerous digital versions.

Hello
I don't think this user is malicious but he adds line-ups based on the line-up that can be seen on a band's Bandcamp description section, not the releases themselves, which I believe is not correct:
https://www.metal-archives.com/users/SALVER

https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/A ... ity/965048

Thanks

This user had been adding a bunch of information regarding certain artists. While it doesn't seem like it's done in ill-faith (at least, for now) he definitely needs to be warned about how he should handle these edits:
