One more suspicious band:
Blood And Bullets (USA) :
They have strange genre "heavy metal/crossover" and again I can't find any samples or any furhter data about them, not band members are listed at their page:

There was a 'zine reference on the version 1 M.A. page of Blood and Bullets that I added to the description, and made a slight genre adjustment. Should be fine, unless samples are found to prove otherwise.

- Torquemada1488 (Esp) - Consensus is for it to stay on the site.
- Taste of Insanity (Netherlands) - Vote: indifferent - could go either way.
- Sonic Rage (US) - am in the process of acquiring samples of both tracks.
- Fireclown (UK) - 1 nwobhm song and 2 rock songs, but hoping that it can stay.
- Justice (US) - Vote for deletion - rock outweighs metal here in my opinion, but could almost go either way.
- Lost Vegas (US), Free Association (US), Shock Value (US), [Drain] (UK) - no solid evidence provided that these are metal bands, and hardly anything has been found about them. Both of the submitters have added a handful of bands that are blatantly far away from being metal, and the 4 entries seem questionable. Would like to get Azmodes' opinion on if any or all should be moved to the research thread to err on the side of caution, or should remain on the site.

Pardon my ignorance of the genre, but is this really predominantly metal? I'm not hearing much riffing, like, at all on here. I don't listen to progressive metal, but this seemed pretty questionable to me.

Deleted E.Vil Project (Finland) - after accepting based on a CD demo, realized that in his solo project Elias Viljanen already has a logo/alt. name of E.Vil (first name initial, first 3 letters of last name), so this shouldn't have a separate listing.

Deleted Fragment Soul (Greece) - light progressive rock

Deleted Justice (US) - more rock than metal

Taste of Insanity (Netherlands) - for this band that was brought up for deletion, none of the moderators mentioned feeling strongly that it should be deleted, although it is somewhat borderline. I changed the genre accordingly, though - Thrash Metal was definitely not accurate.

Juno's Claw (UK) -
Similar case as with Fireclown.
The track Nr.2 on their EP, The Master , is an epic nwobhm song (no AC/DC influences this time, unlike Fireclown(, but the other two songs are average bluesy hard rock songs, which are not particularly heavy and which sond like a mix of Led Zeppelin and the Yardbirds:

Iona (UK)- Their demo sounds like hard rock:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/e2x3gua9 ... 3.rar/file
The single song Don't Cry For The Innocent sounds like nwobhm, but I serously doubt, that thi is the ase for the majortiy of the material on the 2019 compilation.

When we're at it, It is quite doubtful, if the band Valraven really played melodic power metal. I could not find any samples or description for it, but the song titles like Sweet Christine and Down'N'Dirty leave some reasonalbe doubts:

The Iona stuff sounds okay to me - definitely a lot of rock in the sound, but in my opinion anyway it's somewhere between Thin Lizzy and NWOBHM, with a good energy level and dual harmony guitars. Valraven should be fine. It'd be nice to hear out of interest, but with a bassist that was in Mystic Powers and artwork/logo that I'd assume belongs to a metal band if I came across it somewhere, there's no good reason to suspect it to not belong on the site (in my opinion).

Regarding Headwrench:

Are we sure this is groove metal? It has a lot of nu-metalisms.

Pazuzu (Hol) - I coud not find samples , but by all accounts, this band changed name to T-NaNailed , which was a post-grunge band with electronic/dance elments and it seems, that Pazuzu playd similar style as well.

This was actually a band I added, but checking again, I am not so sure this is actually predominately metal. Track 4 is stoner metal, but the other three tracks were pretty light. I wasn't hearing a lot of metallic riffs.

Deleted Chrome Mystic (Indonesia) - no valid release.

Deleted Galaxy Burner (US) - stoner rock.

Pazuzu (Netherlands) - it's hard to know what that band sounded like. I came across something that described them as "sizzling metal", and most of their members come from a background of quality metal. For now in my opinion we should leave them on the site and watch for music samples.

Headwrench (US) - deleted: groove metal w/ a strong nu-metal influence
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Waiting to hear another opinion on: Fireclown (UK), 5 questionable bands that had been brought up - keep on site or move to research thread (details here) -

I didn't listen to Headwrench, but you stated they were groove metal, albeit with a nu-metal influence. Given that groove metal is acceptable here...it seems odd they'd be deleted (I haven't listened to them, however). If it was nu-metal with a groove metal influence, that would be understandable, given that nu-metal isn't an acceptable genre here as a whole.

Yeah, that could have been worded better. They were Nu-Metal/Groove Metal, with a little bit too much weight on the Nu-Metal side of things in TheGrimWombat's opinion, and mine. If anyone has objections after listening though, could always discuss it and come to a consensus.

It's okay, haha - thanks for the wrong genre report. They were probably just added because of their past in Renegade (good band, by the way).

Deleted La Maldita Muerte (Colombia) - only current release is a re-release of an album from when they were called Death Squad.

- about the band Sonic Rage that had been brought up for possible deletion - finally got to listen to the song "Fire", and it's actually heavy, so they should be okay to stay on the site regardless of the other song not being metal.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Waiting to hear another opinion on:

I actually didn't know Mas Optica was here, tbh. Never would have thought to look for them.

might be a silly question but if a band prints physical CDs under their name but it's the release of another act, that's still not worth putting forward hey?

Fireclown (UK) may be right for blacklisting. More rock than nwobhm with 1 song.

Dogtooth Violet (US) and Shock Value (US) moved from the site to the research thread - metalness doubtful due to context clues and information found, evidence to support that they should be on the site lacking. The other 3 possibly questionable bands that had been brought up here will stay on the site - had a talk with Azmodes about it and this seems best.

Fireclown (UK) is the only band still pending decision here, I think. One NWOBHM song, 2 rock songs. Will leave for another moderator to decide on it. Again, their full discography:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtE_3E1rdlY (classic track, kind of like Tank)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTBdDSlTgR8
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3acTWQh_4E (could understand with these 2 songs it might not be primarily metal if counting the minutes of the release, but would be a shame for the song "Invasion" to disappear from the archives in my opinion)

Hi so what was the verdict for vomit slit? im out of the loop, i posted there here like over a month or two ago. did that ever see a deciding factor? the band sound a lot more like gorenoise than death/grind
i.e. the band have a lot more in common with Anal Birth than they do with Exhumed or Carcass

https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Vomit_Slit/101384

Like listen to this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLAynNToGd0

and listen to this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxNErf3MtW4
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1UlFEm4NCg

are they not gorenoise? or am i wrong?

About Vomit Slit - my opinion on that band staying or leaving the site is indifferent. Don't think that there were any strong opinions either way on that (at least not that anyone mentioned after I asked for a consensus a few times).

It must be noted that another album was released after the band's acceptance, though. The last one sounds a lot like heavy metal/RAC or something like that I'd say. In case the Fuck the Media Lies is deemed not metal enough, I mean.

Asynja (Swe)- not gothic/folk metal, but actually viking rock like the blaklisted band Hel.
It has some modern gothic/symphonic influences like Nighwish, but the core of the music is viviking rock, oi!/folk derived music.

Deleted Monolith (Netherlands) - not really a name change just an alternate spelling of The Monolith Deathcult name since both first demo and album also feature The Monolith Deathcult name. The data was migrated to the later entry as there was more data on that one.
