Before the thread gets too disorganized, here is what is pending at the moment. Further detail on pg. 150.
- Spring - https://www.metal-archives.com/report/view/id/791450
- Desecrated Grave
- Bloodquest
- Pullout Method
- N.A.O.S.
- https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Sa ... 3540505650 - possibly released on a bootleg label, see April 30 post.
- Crackdown - second demo is nu-metal, so far samples of the first can't be found. Should probably be deleted and moved to research thread rather than given the benefit of the doubt considering how that second demo and follow-up band Str@in (recently deleted) sound. Any other mod opinion on this?
- Ella - https://www.metal-archives.com/report/v ... /show/mine

This album is listed as a collaboration album on MA with the name of all participants on the cover. This is similar to adding Lou Reed for releasing a collaboration album with Metallica or Julie Christmas for releasing a collaboration album with Cult of Luna, etc. So yeah I guess Ella should be definitely removed if it was accepted based on that specific album.

Maybe she was accepted based on her debut "Pengemis Cinta", seeing how there's some metal in there outside of the soft rock ballads, but I could be wrong.

Checking the modification history i'd wager it was added based on the collaboration album Diva Metal. The one who added the band was a moderator back then so the moderators might discussed this back then or he might simply decided to add it and the band just slipped through the archives until now. I believe it needs reassessment.

Browbeat is listed as Melodic Death/Groove Metal but they sound more like hardcore/metalcore of the unacceptable variety. Maybe an occasional metal riff but far from the genre description.

Their new EP is here
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=O ... feDuv07eWg

Two of their albums are on Bandcamp
https://browbeathc.bandcamp.com/music

The other album is on Youtube. It sounds closer to nu metal than anything else. Some of the songs are below.

Deleted Crackdown (Portugal) - the whole second demo is nu-metal, and they were listed as thrash metal on the site. Couldn't find their first demo from a year prior, so have moved them to the research thread. They were accepted in '06, when a lot of non-metal was seeping onto M.A.

Deleted Browbeat (Italy) - Hardcore/nu-metal.

Pending:
- Spring - https://www.metal-archives.com/report/view/id/791450
- N.A.O.S. - question was what release were they accepted on, or is it considered relevant as a side project of someone known in metal? https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/N.A.O.S./6219
- https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Sa ... 3540505650 (possibly released on a bootleg label, see April 30 post on pg. 150)
- Ella - https://www.metal-archives.com/report/v ... /show/mine (see posts above. Looking back at when it was brought up before, "Diva Metal" was the reason it was kept. A report with suggestions regarding the issue: https://www.metal-archives.com/report/v ... 5/show/all , and another about the genre: https://www.metal-archives.com/report/v ... 8/show/all

Deleted Bobby Speed and the Amenders - pop rock on a primarily metal label.
https://www.reverbnation.com/bobbyspeedspeed/songs ("Diane" is one of the only 2 songs in their discography).

MDL, those 2 pages should be kept as is in my opinion - a bit of a stretch between the 2 names, and sometimes these sort of discography merges make bands harder to find on the site, and could create more confusion than do good by spending the time combining them into one page.

Deleted Pullout Method (US) - Metal outweighed by -core. Removed from pending list 3 posts up.
https://pulloutmethod2009.bandcamp.com/ ... ried-alive

Regarding Desecrated Grave - though a note says that each of the 3 releases were only given to close friends, with the quantities of 30 and 50 it seems fine to stay - talked it over with another moderator, and it was suggested for the 'only given to close friends' note to remain. Going to remove them from the pending list of this thread as well.

Deleted Bloodquest (Arizona) - though initially accepted, having been brought up for suggested deletion and moderator consensus that their sound is more akin to hardcore than metal led to their removal. Pending list updated.

Deleted Satan Church (Indonesia) - they seem to have only had downloadable songs on a 'bootleg' Bandcamp page.

Regarding N.A.O.S. - they were accepted based on the 'side project rule'. That list can be found here:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=88696

Spring (Switzerland) was taken off of the site and moved to the research thread in order to try to find more samples.

Spurred by this report, I'm curious as to why Crimson Tower made it in. Their only album is a re-release of the final EP under their previous name, Eternal Abyss, though at least some versions seem to have new bonus tracks, suspiciously under the same names as the repurposed tracks.

Compare Eternal Abyss' MMXX with Crimson Tower's Aeternal Abyss. It would seem like this needs to be shown the door until fully original material is released.

Since I don't have permission to see that forum, even as Metal Knight, I'm going to assume that link is from the Mod forums. Either way, I'm feeling like it may be helpful not just to avoid future inquiries like this, but just for the overall detail of the Archive, if you guys (the mods) added a note to those side-projects outlining how they were accepted, much in the same way the "Accepted based on X Album" notes are added to bands typically outside the Archive's scope. It's helpful information to have directly on the page.

Crimson Tower deleted. Only release so far contains reissued Eternal Abyss material.

Deleted Ivento (Kazakhstan) and Strappado (Kazakhstan) - both bands are from Phåge mastermind whose many songs were confirmed to be plagiarized i.e. uploads of other people's work as his own. Unless there is some concrete proof that these bands actually have original material, they are not getting back in.

Deleted Prezence (Texas, US) - more rock than metal.
Debut EP:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YC4KJlblkKY (first song is heavy metal/hard rock - just rock otherwise)
7" ('85):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qbmn90Z3NYw (the second and final song in their discography that might pass as heavy metal/hard rock, though probably still falls more on the rock side)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6mUQCMAQl4
Self-titled EP/demo ('90):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoSM4IaWQJA (I have a burned copy of this, and remember the other 3 songs sounding about the same)

Follow-up plagiarism claim report about the bands "The Void" / "The Trve Void". It looks to be the same recording, except The Trve Void has 3 less songs. The Void has provided additional information that they are the band who has rights to this music.

Deleted Ashe (USA).
One of their two albums is just Altar of Plagues' "Mammal". -> plagiarism.
Who know where their other is stolen from.

Deleted Beleth and Necrolust (Italy, Sicily). There's been some drama with these concerning plagiarism, with at least one song proven to be stolen from someone else. Paired with the general aura of bullshit surrounding these projects, better to delete them and reassess if someone can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they are legitimate and have at least some original material.

Honestly, thank you for mentioning it. I legit thought i had turned insane for a moment..
Next time i'll make sure to not touch a band appealed by someone else, just saw it was whitelisted and went for it. My bad.

Silent Screams: scenecore band

Later stuff is absolutely without a doubt unacceptable scene metalcore/Warped Tour post-hardcore but as far as I notice I guess the band were accepted back in the day cuz of their early material being seemingly very influenced by Scandinavian melodeath enough to be accepted. idk about that one chief... listen to their first two EPs and judge for yourself. it still kinda feels like I'm listening to Asking Alexandria rather than As I Lay Dying or Unearth idk.

but i could be wrong, this could be totally fine

Deleted Atomvinter (Swe) - hardcore/punk.

Deleted Morte Aeterna (Netherlands) - only known recording isn't verified - format unknown, apparently never released, and vocals reportedly weren't completed on it. Tried contacting and never heard back. Have moved to research thread.

Deleted Unsound (US) - hardcore.

Deleted Lord of Shadows (Romania / International) - Only discography up to this point has already been released under their former (listed) name, Cruish-Nir.

The following Indonesian bands whose only listed discography consists of one or more downloads on the 'bootleg' / unofficial Bandcamp page Embek Ireng have been deleted:
- Adoration Obscure
- Banaspati
- Bogadentha
- Brajangkolo
- Dispatany
- Gerhana Hitam
- Getih Wangi
- Innalillahi
- Jolo Sukmo
- Kantil Kuning
- Mendiang Romo
- Mizan
- Pesanggrahan Sakral
- Rambut Sapitu
- Singith
- Tenget
- Total Kramat

The Trve Void was dealt with by Azmodes - plagiarism.

- Silent Screams - indifferent; some of their music sounds metal to me, but there are a lot of breakdowns that make it somewhat questionable.

Revolt from Italy is listed as death/thrash but they sound more like some variety of -core music. There might be an occasional metal riff here and there but overall this album is questionable at best.

https://bleedsomeonedryofficial.bandcam ... in-tragedy

They were later known as Bleed Someone Dry and while I couldn't find this album released under the name Revolt it appears the songs are the same.

Deleted Liberosis (UK). Its former name, Iðrast was added earlier (2018), and nothing new has been released under this name yet.

Deleted Eternal Tears (France) - had added, then noticed that the 'zine had mistyped their name. Endless Tears is listed on the site already.

Deleted B.D.A. (Bad Dreams Always) (Sweden) - had added them based on a couple of short early demos that sounded like a mix of thrash and death metal with hardcore influences, but then discovered that they have an extensive discography and are primarily a hardcore band.
