Genre should be something more akin to a Vomitor or Sarcófago; Black/Thrash/Death or just Death/Thrash. No Speed Metal here!

The band Walking Corpse Syndrome is listed as being Death/Black/Industrial Metal

https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Wa ... ome/126157

I hear none of those genres, they sound more like Groove/Nu-Metal with some Metalcore, similar to Roots-era Sepultura and Chimaira

I can't find their first two albums, but the other ones are on YT

Alive in Desolation (https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5 ... O_mjuZxte8)

Human Delusion (https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5 ... -35QXsi10o)

The band Stercore is listed as Death Metal/Deathcore/Grindcore
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/St ... 3540375589

I'd suggest changing it to Deathcore/Death Metal (early), Melodic Metalcore/Deathcore (later)

First album "Fake World" is Deathcore/Death Metal
(https://stercore-sma.bandcamp.com/album/fake-world)

"Eternal Sunlight" EP they started to shift towards Electronic/Melodic Metalcore
https://stercore-sma.bandcamp.com/album ... l-sunlight

"Indifference" is mostly Melodic Metalcore with Deathcore elements
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgAB ... xcQ7f8e7-E

"The Death Head" continues in the same direction
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5 ... p8SqQIoSp8

Yes - I added heavy metal and hard rock to their genre - not straight power metal, though it's one of their subgenres. Thanks.

Hello
Could this be addressed please?
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Screwed/3540505160
https://www.metal-archives.com/report/view/id/791993

https://screwedlife.bandcamp.com/

This band had the Hardcore/Grind/Death Metal when submitted but then the grindcore part was removed for some reason before being accepted. This is clearly influenced by Nails (they even acknowledge it by using "nails" as a tag) and therefore the genre should be:
Hardcore/Death Metal/Powerviolence

Thanks

Hello.

One more genre report I made in March:

The band Soul Enema from Israel, I think, should be changed to "Progressive/avant-garde metal." Detailed in the report.

They're definitely more prog than avant-garde, but I'd say there is enough of the latter to justify a mention, and the melody has been significantly reduced in the most recent album.

There are already two reports (the first mine) pointing in the direction that the band Horrendo doesn't play straight death metal, but something clearly influenced by grindcore or noisecore:

https://www.metal-archives.com/report/view/id/792244 (this report includes band-sanctioned samples)
https://www.metal-archives.com/report/view/id/793464

https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Ho ... 3540505982

I'd say the right genre for the band perhaps would be
Death Metal/Grindcore/Noisecore
or
Death Metal/Goregrind/Noisecore
Sort of merging what the two reports say as well as the band's current genre.

Thanks

Having listened to Maria Üldine's discography on Bandcamp, the genre descriptor is not very accurate.

I don't hear any "Heavy Metal" at all, and the "Doom Metal" is only prominent in the first album Own My Fears, although in a very experimental form (sometimes crossing to more extreme forms of metal (like Black or even Gothic); two of the songs even are Punk).
The Safe & Sound album is rooted in Melodic Death Metal, and the Atomica album is some sort of Gothic Metal/Rock with various influences.
The "Folk Metal" tag is the most accurate, there are several instances of folk metal or folk-inspired songs throughout the discography, including the singles.

I suggest changing the tag to "Various" and perhaps add a note in the description that the artist/band plays various styles of metal, or having it be something like "Melodic Death/Gothic/Doom/Folk Metal" as those are the predominant genres played (so far).

Sheltered Sun really isn't just "melodic death metal" even though it was changed that way. Symphonies are a proeminent part of their music, especially on the "Moonlight Chaos", which is one of the two singles they have. So, "Symphonic/Melodic Death Metal" would be the most accurate description?

Probably better to keep it as is. There's more traditional heavy metal through most of the album - some power metal moments. The main genres are covered as it is.

The "Gothic Metal" tag on this band has always bothered me. There are keyboards and female vocals, but it just doesn't quite seem right.

Here is some of the music:

Striker has been changed to Heavy Metal.

Gothic Metal definitely isn't right for Notrash. It's a tough one to pin down, though. There are elements of progressive and groove metal there, but that doesn't quite cover all of the ground in my opinion. Any suggestions?

That tag "Thrash/Black influences" isn't really justified. Just basic death metal in Deicide vein.

Progressive Heavy/Groove Metal or something similar would probably work. I'm not even 100% sold on "progressive". They just kind of do some oddball things, but it doesn't really have the prog metal sound. It's almost like groove metal mixed with the more brooding and laid back 90s stuff a lot of thrash bands went to, but also with just a lot of mid-paced heavy metal mixed in. I just know Gothic Metal is not it.

Just changed it to Heavy/Groove Metal - at least it's a lot more accurate. If someone wants to do any more fine-turning with it, feel free to but that seems close, if not fine as is.

No problem.
Salem (Isr), that was brought up has been taken care of a little while ago.
There are a few that I didn't give a listen to that were posted about:
- Swashbuckle
- Stercore
- Walking Corpse Syndrome
- God of Malice
- Beyond the Black
- Beast in Black

S9NE, you might be able to take care of some that you mentioned also:
- Triddana, Ethernity, Poetica, Rising Storm

So, I'm not quite sure what the demos sound like, but their full-length, "Brick" is certainly not power/thrash metal.

Hostility - changed to Groove Metal. Their demos didn't circulate a whole lot, and I don't remember hearing any of them before. They're mostly known for that "Brick" album, which didn't come out long after their tapes had. This is probably a much more accurate genre listing.
If anyone's really interested in hearing their earlier recordings (which may have been more straightforward thrash in style), contacting one of these 3 ex-members through their linked Facebook page would probably be the best bet:

Thanks! I've thought about contacting Gulch (since I added them here); but I just don't think it's that important. This band will be remembered as a Groove Metal band and that sound continued with Gulch, anyway.
