I went ahead and changed the genre to Thrash Metal with Grindcore elements. That seems to be a good compromise for now. There are 2 songs so far that can be assessed, under 6 minutes of material, so there's very little that can be taken from that. It doesn't make sense to spend any more time on putting such a short discography under a microscope. There are nearly 700 reports in queue with more serious issues, and unfortunately sometimes not everyone is in agreement. Kennermahn and I have heard your points, and each put a fair amount of time into this. It isn't a very considerate thing to badger the staff repeatedly about a small issue like this. Good luck with your project.

Thanks for your consideration.

You're right, there are only 2 songs so far, so I won't complain about this topic any more.

But as KingSpooky has mentioned, if someone would modify the genre as I consider, I'd appreciate it.

Sorry for taking up your time anyway.

A bit of a spelling error on "technical" for this band:

This band played a lot more "traditional" heavy metal than power metal so I'd say they could be changed to heavy metal/hard rock?

Heavy/Power Metal would fit them pretty well as there's USPM elements

Genre is fine as is. Traces of power metal and hard rock, but it's ultimately just heavy metal.

Never used this thread before but this seems to have a lot of groove metal. Doesn't seem like straightforward death metal to me. The genre should probably be changed to death/groove metal or something.

I'd argue it's not even really death metal. Seems more like Groove/Thrash Metal or even just Groove Metal to me.

Also, I am thinking the genre on this one should probably be changed to sludge metal/metalcore. Back when I submitted the band I wasn't sure what they were, but I've seen them tagged as sludge metal on various sites and I think that fits their sound.

Not sure exactly how we want to approach this one. I'm not really against what the band is listed as, but I'm curious for some input. As far as I'm concerned, they are basically like a "melodic" Celtic Frost in style.

The first album (not on youtube) is basically "Morbid Tales" worship.

I don't know about this one, clearly not death metal, am I the only one hearing some nu-metal influences here?

What would you think about
Groove/Nu-Metal?

I think that makes sense. It could also be groove metal/metalcore to show that there are some non-metal influences in the sound.

Genre updated to Groove/Nu-Metal/Metalcore. I had also noticed those core influences.

I think the band Old Man's Child should have a minor genre change to Melodic/Symphonic Black Metal. Keyboards aren't emphasized as much on some of their albums but I think there are enough symphonic elements in their music to mention in the genre personally. The album In Defiance of Existence has a lot of symphonic stuff in particular.

Some songs from In Defiance of Existence:

Some of their other albums also feature a lot of symphonic influences/keyboards, these are just some random songs:

Also, I think it wouldn't hurt to change Hellyeah's genre to Groove/Nu-Metal. They definitely get kind of "Nu-" at times, especially after the debut.

Morto Kacho sound more like death/thrash than regular death metal, so I'd suggest someone listen to some tracks off their album and judge them for a potential genre change.

I've already asked before, but I really think Kamelot should have some "symphonic" descriptor in them. They have relatively strong orchestral elements in many of their songs.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra should also have a "symphonic" label in them as well. They're literally an orchestral metal band.

We've discussed it and it was decided that both band's genres are fine as they are.

Guys, can the genre of my band be changed? I think only the first album was Black/Doom. Now I think is more atmospheric post-black or something... Maybe you know better what I'm doing there. :))

You can listen the last album, "Shards of Existence", or the last single released two days ago.

Darkshines is labeled Gothic/Thrash Metal. Aside from maybe the odd borderline riff here and there, there is nothing even remotely thrash about this band. They are much closer to Gothic Metal/Rock or something along those lines.

Here are their 3 albums:
"Where"

"Love Is Never Ending"

https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Zo ... 3540476930

The full demo has surfaced:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1fWk4IV20w

Tracks 1 & 2 are pure Hard Rock.
Track 3 was available at the time of its submission. To me it's Heavy Metal/Hard Rock.
Track 4 is Heavy Metal/Hard Rock with an usual Psychadelic flavour.
Tracks 5 & 7 are ballads. Tracks 8 is, too, but it has some metal overtones.
Track 6 is Heavy Metal.

3/4 metal tracks out of 8, in my opinion. If it stays, I think Heavy Metal/Hard Rock would be more accurate.

Am I crazy or was Sweden's Crystal Eyes tagged as Epic Power Metal for a long time here? Now it's just Power Metal. Were they just deemed not epic enough to be considered epic? Seems weird. And why is this kind of thing not noted anywhere in the updates/reports?

Gruesome from Norway is listed as Brutal Death Metal. They sound primarily rooted in black metal with a death metal influence to me so I think calling them black/death metal (or maybe death/black :???: ) is more accurate. They split up a long time ago so there is no official link for this band or anything. I uploaded these MP3s I recently found so I hope that is acceptable for a reevaluation.

Why is Seventh Wonder just listed as Progressive Metal rather than Progressive Power Metal? They have such a big emphasis on soaring choruses, glittery keyboards, major key moments etc. that I'd think they'd be seen as a definitive example of that sub-subgenre. The Tiara album in particular exemplifies that, but here are some links to tunes that I think define that aspect of their sound well.

Should Brocas Helm be listed as "Epic Heavy/Power Metal"? They have USPM elements. They sound similar to Manilla Road
