- I asked him to cut that Bandcamp stuff out. Though I was waiting to hear from someone to determine that it was an unnecessary edit, as far as I can tell there's no good reason to be doing that. Also mentioned the importance of communication in reports that request attention, so hopefully there will be a response.

User johnnydays fell flat on answering a very basic question recently, and I'd like to bring him up also as someone that was adding guesswork themes ("Christianity" based on some references to church and angels in band name/song titles. It's totally ignorant to assume the context that any of those words are used in, and when you're not going to back your edit up by responding, to me that says that your work on here is questionable at best). The lyrical theme was completely wrong, by the way.

User Josh7707 on this band page: https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Kali/3540504942

He's adding YouTube singles that don't seem very different from one another, adding unnecessary information (e.g. the link to the video in every field of the additional notes), and the videos aren't even available anymore, it appears. Notwithstanding the fact that the releases may all be invalid, I tried to clear out the excess stuff on one of them (https://www.metal-archives.com/history/ ... id/1121644) and he added it back. Maybe someone could give him a heads up.

Yeah, that's hideous work. Sent a warning, and have requested additional info about a few of the edits. Going to clean some of that other stuff up, too.
(edit) Mess cleaned. 90% of the edits made were obvious guesswork, adding in a formation date a year prior to or the year of a band's first release. Here, ( https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Nuh/3540466306 ) the bio states "Active for two years, around 2004. They never played live." In 2020 a CD of their recorded work was released. The user added 2020 as their only year active. :( Nothing is being capitalized correctly, lyrical themes entered in are the first thing you'd think of from hearing the band's name, and hatred was spelled 'hatrid'.
(April 17th update: user read all messages/inquiries, responded to none. So far hasn't made any new edits).

He likely has some kind of dispute with Gabriel Sabatini and vandalised these pages, including a link to a porn site:
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Ps ... 3540401586
https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... ini/326496

I can't tell if his first 2 edits are legit (they could be). I'm reverting the last 4.

https://www.metal-archives.com/users/Renatoletra
- After cleaning up a note this user had added which stated that Peter Steele's height was 2.03 centimeters (smaller than a walnut), had a quick glance at what other bits of astute wisdom they've been gracing the site with. Immediately saw some poorly-worded and questionable facts being entered into pages of Black Sabbath albums. Their edit history should definitely be looked into.
(edit): Took a closer look, and most of the edits seem fine.

- Started entering guesswork lineups in quickly and suddenly (including some with roles unknown, as they are listed as documented band members). Noticed it right away, fortunately. Critical warning sent, and mess cleaned. Should be banned if it continues on beyond this edit: 2023-05-18 14:10:52 - Incursion - Revolution.

Maybe ought to be kept an eye on. Added a goofy additional activity date to this band page and added a duplicate digital entry to a single release.

Please ban:

(this is the kid that told Azmodes to f-off when he tried to be more than helpful about something in Discord. Maybe S9NE or someone else happens to remember from about 3 months back. That was after warnings, etc. Not someone we need around, especially with the state the queues have been in lately).

https://www.metal-archives.com/users/heavymetal1622
- consistently crappy user that often replaces band photos (seemingly without much taste for what picture would be best to use), but doesn't always check and accordingly fix the additional notes/bio if the members are identified from left to right in the photo mentioned - and this is for well-known bands like Dark Angel and Sodom. If anyone has a chance to check their edit history for replaced band photos where the note wasn't fixed but should have been, it would be appreciated. Have also seen them replace release artwork with a worse version of it on a few occasions, and replace logo with another (worse) one when there was specifically a moderator note saying not to.

Not many instances, and I cleaned up those I've seen, but he seems to add links in the additional notes and recording info field when adding an album. Also included the year and "download" in an album title.

https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/3 ... sh/1142785
https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/K ... ad/1142774

EDIT: he also consistently links to individual albums rather than to band pages in the link section.

Dude's been on a whitewashing crusade in regards to this Mexican Gas Chambers band and likely won't quit. They even deleted their own Instagram thinking they could cover their ass.

Vandal (if anyone able to do a ban still checks this thread or cares):

(entered in 'Yo Momma Fat' activity period for Thule Hammer, 'Deez Nutz' theme for Molochs Trip, etc.)
Maybe the same person that did this visitor whitewashing report for the sole member of those two bands:

https://www.metal-archives.com/users/memorius
- Much like the listed location conquest this user set out on a year or two ago (which caused a lot of wrong, assumed information to seep onto the site, requiring massive clean-up, and he was warned about), a different kind of location project has been going on for a couple months, the recording location. It is mostly adding the city, which can sometimes be helpful if each one is looked into closely, and information from the source isn't being overridden. The problem is (which I sent the user a message about a couple months ago, with concern that he'd screw things up again) I don't think he's taking into consideration that studios sometimes relocate, and that some aren't just planted in one place for their whole existence, but move around with the recording engineers, the name sometimes going with the person rather than the equipment, etc. Today I noticed information that was useful get deleted from one of these. Warning sent. Would be nice if these location conquests, which he did a horrible job with last time, could cease. In looking back over the edits, they're being filled in quickly, and probably also having information that had been taken straight from the release or official source overridden by assumption. https://imgur.com/a/BuAsdyu

20 minutes after I sent the warning, this change was made:
https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/A ... uta/540869
Drums recorded at The Parlour Studios, Northampton, England to Drums recorded at The Parlour Studios, Kettering, England.
https://ataudmuerte.bandcamp.com/album/ ... a-absoluta
"Drums Recorded at The Parlour Studios, Northampton, England"
- this is a 2015 release. Especially on more recent recordings, it is very common for recording equipment to move from one location to another, and still be a product of that studio. This is a blatant example of ignoring the warning, and replacing information straight from the source with one set location that he believes every recording done by The Parlour Studios to have taken place at.

After seeing that a digital version with 2021 as release year was added in 2014, I noticed an update where a user modified a Metal Mind version into a Nuclear Blast one. What's that about?

Well, "De Profundis" had Metal Mind reissue in 2003 (in jewel box and in digipak). Now these versions are gone from the Archives. Probably wrongly replaced with recent Nuclear Blast reissues and changed into digital.

I guess, the better way to find out is to ask that user, why he did it:

It was most likely a one-off mistake. Ordoad has done a lot of editing for duplicate entries to be removed, and one of the releases was probably misallocated this time. If someone would be able to add the missing release back to the site, or put in a report for someone else to do so, it would be helpful. Thanks for pointing this one out.

I was thinking a bit, if it should be brought here, but it's not the first time, when the same user (gorilla1969) does a guessing game with date of release (added CD version with day of upload to Discogs as release date):

https://www.metal-archives.com/report/v ... 3/show/all

Owner of Defense Records is my closest business partner and also a best friend. He never releases anything on Sundays, plus he uploads releases into Bandcamp only, when he has a physical copies available.

Hoohhhh boy this one is real bad, this dude spammed like a thousand different Filipino bands with the same stupid ass link to a 3-hour video he uploaded (a "Filipino metal compilation").

https://www.metal-archives.com/users/dethronerecords1

He basically took the tedious task to include his youtube link in each and every band that was included in it............... Not only should you either very sternly warn or just outright ban this guy, but I also really need help deleting everything he did. theres just so many edits he did. He also left some links of another video he uploaded (a video interview link from his channel) also to several, several bands' link tab. I have no idea why youd do this or how anyone would have the time to do what he did. :ugh: :ugh: Needless to say this is a absurd case of spamming which all ultimately boils down to him very aggressively promoting his youtube channel
