I'm tired of reporting/sending mails about faulty modifications on a profile that has my name on it.
I didn't put up the profile so what can I do?

Well, maybe you requests didn't contain any verifiable proof, or are attempting to whitewash public information.

Artists/bands don't control their pages here, this is a reference site not a promotional platform. What's the problem exactly?

My problem is how it is made possible that faulty information gets verified in the first place.
And please, an attempt at whitewashing a public profile? How about discrediting one's reputation?
Because that's what's happening to my profile.

What's the page in question? If there are persistent attemtps at vandalism, I can bookmark the page to keep an eye on it and also add a warning whenever the page is edited.


Unfortunately, as moderation is volunteer-based, we don't have the manpower to double-check every piece of data before it gets added. Instead, we have a point-based rank system to try to ensure that people with more editing powers also have more experience with the site. It's far from perfect, but there it is. It happens quite often, trust me. Members attempting to remove other members due to band-internal drama, trying to remove "old shame" releases in their discography, trying to have a demo appear older than it is, adding all kinds of promotional sensationalisms to their biographies, trying to remove names that were published in the booklets of the very albums they released, trying to have parts of their discography removed because now they play something else and that stuff no longer fits, people pretending to be from Norway to lend credibility to their black metal project, bands pretending to be from different countries for similar reasons, the list goes on and on.
