It's the same Deathwish, and was accepted in error. The band has always, and remains predominantly -core. That's not really the issue at hand, and we wouldn't normally ban someone for submitting a non-metal band. We do ban people for evading the blacklist, however. The blacklist are the bands we have already judged as having no valid metal release. When you try to submit a band that's blacklisted, you get a big red warning that says you will be banned if you try to sneak it in without first asking us to whitelist it (ie. make a reassessment and get our permission to submit it). You did ask us to
whitelist the band name, and we responded by asking you to
show us proof that the band you wanted to submit is not the same band. You never responded. Instead, you chose to submit the band anyway (as Deathwish Wisconsin) and thus bypass the warning stating you would be banned for doing so. So you got banned. Plain and simple.
Admittedly, it does appear that you may have genuinely thought they were different bands, and might not have understood what you needed to do to prove that the band you wanted to submit was somehow different from the alleged "other band." That almost always means providing samples from the album you think is metal enough for getting the band accepted. With the mix-up with how your submission was accepted in error, and how you might have thought they were separate bands, I could see why you would be confused with why you were banned. That doesn't necessarily excuse the fact that you decided to ignore a warning, but at least I could understand why you might have thought it was OK to bypass the warning. For future reference, you never bypass the warning. You always wait for an OK from one of us first, even if you think the band is a different band then the one that is blacklisted.
