Some of us whom take the time to submit a new band with full detail get rejected, just because the bands first release isn't officially out, but proof has been provided from three different sources that it's available for pre-order, so your submission gets rejected and you forget about it for a few days, then some point whore comes along and submits it before you can re-submit it. Now why is it that your first rejected submission doesn't count, even after the band has an official release and because you were the original submitter?

That's your problem right there.

Our rules are pretty clear that we don't consider upcoming albums -- even those available for pre-order -- for band submissions. They also state that we will reject such submissions the moment we notice them:
Quote:
For a band to be acceptable, it must have already released and distributed a metal album. An upcoming release is not acceptable: wait until the actual release date (based on the site's timezone, i.e. EST/EDT) before submitting the band. We used to accept such bands, until we realized many of them were all talk and never even released the demo for real. So we're very strict on this. Expect any band whose sole album is upcoming to be insta-rejected by the first moderator who sees it in the queue.

The onus is entirely on you to follow our rules. And, honestly, our rules aren't that strict. Does the band have an album? Is that album already out and available to the public? Is that album predominantly metal? If yes to all of these, submit. If no to any of these, don't submit. It's not our fault that you didn't follow our rules, but that some other user did and so got to have his or her submission accepted.
