Are there any rules on what distinguishes a demo composed of live tracks vs an actual live album?

For example this album (https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/G ... ive/263308) is a demo composed of two live tracks, but it isn't called a live album.

I guess the better question is, by metal archives standards, what defines a demo?

There are no standards other than "how the band reffers to it", you could invoke logic when choosing a release type, but within reasonable limit. If you choose "Live", it will display in Lives tab, rather than demos.
