This idea came to me when working on a report. So, there was this artist, who isn't part of the band's line-up, that needed to be added to an album's line-up for a "other staff" task. The thing is, that artist is simply known as "David". Well, there are thousands of artists named "David" in MA, so, it is really no easy task to search for the person while going around the window with all the artists on the database. It's true that we can try to find him for the country of origin, but still, it might be difficult for newcomers and maybe even to more veteran users to contribute with that information. Which could potentially lead to the creation of unnecessary duplicate artists entries, as well.

Therefore, I believe that adding an ID searching engine to this feature might be very positive, just like when someone wants to make a certain album version a parent or child version.

The artist entry, in question: https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/David/860093
