Yes, I noticed. I'm not trying to keep the last.fm links up but aren't band's samples the most important rather than the radios?

User without_god keeps adding pointless definitions of band's names to the additional notes section.

Since pretty much every band that is listed in lastfm also has at least a myspace fan page, I don't see any point in keeping a site that only allows most users to listen to some samples that can be found in another free website.

Can somebody look into what this user is doing: destroyed999. He's updating every band backwards from Z by the looks of it.

You're telling me he's adding the exact release dates for all those bands with Z? Even fucking Zyris? A band that sucks so much that I've never seen anyone ever hear, let alone mention!

yeah, I saw that, it looks like he intentionally adds fake releases for his own band.

I've banned Lokki.

I do agree that what he's doing does seem a bit pointless, but I guess that other people can find them interesting. It doesn't bother me to have that piece of trivia in the additional notes.

Mods gonna do anything about destroyed999? He got +50 points in 2 days without doing anything significant to the archives. "Adding specific release dates?"

Especially interesting since he just went from the last band in the archives and worked his way up.

I noticed the reviews by user TheBleeder for Darkthrone's "Dark Thrones And Black Flags" and Nocturnal Fear's "Code Of Violence" are taken word for word from the February 2009 and November 2008 issues of Metal Maniacs by reviewer Marty Rytkonen. And while I can't find the issue its in, I recognize the Abominant review he has as well. I'm not sure if its the same guy from Metal maniacs. His reviews don't have a "originally written for Metal Maniacs" tag at the bottom like most do that were written for another source. It doesn't give his name on his profile, either. It could be him, but I'm doubting it. Could a mod contact him and ask about his identity?

I've contacted Marty.

Does anyone know what user smeshuggah is doing on the more "known" metal band pages like Immortal, Bathory, Motorhead, Burzum, etc. He's updating them mighty fast.

I've delete King Diamond's link which was invalid. I didn't see that there were a certain amount of pics on those pages. Maybe that's enough to warrant an entry. And it doesn't need registration, of course.

About "smeshuggah": honestly is it useful to add links to Dan Swanö@Facebook on all his band pages??

Another example of useless links

Yeah I noticed that too just now. I've been following him and his addition are useless.

Mods - semshuggah made nearly 30 points just adding "Dan Swano Facebook" links to every listed Swano page.

It would be better to just blacklist those facebook links. I'll check if it's possible.

What is Stormrider doing? Hes updated a lot of bands today and all I can see after checking cached pages is that he is adding fansites.

I'm going to revisit/correct the title translations for a good amount of Senmuth's songs, so if the band page is frequently updated, it's most likely by me. Just letting you all know so no misunderstanding arises in the process.

At the moment i'm cleansing the archives from dead links and stuff like that therefore my name might appear in alot of changed profiles during the next weeks - so nothing unusual i guess.

yeah i try to use archive.org whenever the homepage of the band is the only official like given. If there is a link to a myspace profile which is not outdated i mostly don't use archive.org and just delete the link.

Those and Gene Hoglan, too.

Is this enough for the mods to unleash banzilla?

Holy hell, he got over 100 points in 2 days just adding facebook links!

I've noticed that somebody has put in lyrics for Burzum - Demo I, even though the album is completely instrumental. Essentially, the lyric files all read "(Instrumental Version)". This is entirely unnecessary, as it is already specified at the top of the page that all tracks are instrumental.
