1) he acted like a cunt so I removed all his points.. (then whined on forum & insulted people)
2) from what I observed, he has now created a new account.

im not sure if this has been brought up before. but i just looked at the recently updated and they are all by HellKnight.

but i do see a pattern, besides the fact that it was all "A" bands, they are all from brazil, so maybe he is just familiar with those....dunno...

im not flagging him for point whoring, just mild suspicion.

I'm adding links to the norwegian band members who appear in other bands. I'm just mentioning it for avoiding any point-whoring comments, thank you :) :P

just wanted to report him, too..
Seems like he is adding tracklength of the albums. Always one number at a time. Yep.. he is doing so...
points are flowing... 15 in some minutes at least.. I guess more.

I think I know now exactly what Iztlayaotl has done. He copy pasted the length of the tracks of one album to the other ones. One at a time. The problem is that it is NOW unclear which is right and which is wrong. The site is quite messed up now! You can see it here:
Track4:
http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=37761
track9:
http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=37765

Is putting real names on band members with pseudonyms legit?
Example Ancient's Aphazel's real name is Magnus Garvik, should I update it?
And doing so should I update all the bands he is on?

he is up 41 points, from 178 to 219 ...

I think he's not the same guy. This one registered on December of past year.

Oh. If you want laugh a while take a look to Iztlayaotl website. "If you don't have a webpage and you want one. Request it to (his e-mail)" :boo:

may I ask you (what the fuck): what are you doing on ALL spanish bands?...

just an advice : don't exaggerate coz even if you're a "metal freak" or anything else, that does not allow you to do everything and as you noticed I have little patience :) (so if one morning you wake up with 5000 points down, santa "CK" claus will the the responsible one :D)

Christkiller... you would not believe how many errors can be found here. The day 'Iztlayaotl' did his point whoring I checked out the bands at Mexico. Just by repairing the links I got up 50 points, because there are uncountable errors. Especially the problem with {/link band}. I have seen this also at some Australian sites.

In the morning I found some better photos and logos and changed it (80s bands: Bella Bestia, EVO, Panzer (Esp), Santa, Azuzena, Goliath, etc.). I'm adding some myspace links for younger bands that weren't listed.
Today I've also found the official Rubén Álvarez website and added all his discography (some demos and an album).

Some days ago I found a page where I found many cover artwork of 80s singles and I was adding them (the singles were already in the archives). Oh... and last day I get some rare Muro lyrics in image files (2 points for a half an hour of typewriting).

That's all, I think. You know, there isn't much Spanish users, and I'm sure you know Spanish metal scene always have been very closed to international scene (for language, I think). There's a lack of information in old Spanish bands, and it's easy for me to find this kind of information. But if I'm doing something wrong please tell me.

---------------

Oh, have you seen my questions in "Why was X band accepted?" and "An Special Side Project" (sorry the misspelling) threads?

Non-veterans cannot edit the line-ups like you can. Non-veterans can only add information, never edit it. But I agree with you - any perfectionist can gain many points once he reachs the veterans status. I don't really care much if a veteran is gaining many points. So what if he gets a few more points? If he legally reached veterans status, I don't really give a flying fuck if he likes correct thousands of small mistakes or crappy layouts. The real problem are those who are veterans without deserving it.

It is considered not as a V.A. Compilation but rather a split (less than 5 bands): same for Blazebirth Hall CD

The thing is, I'm somewhat guilty [of pointwhoring]. Like, it's so tempting to add a band's myspace page to the links section, or listen to some lyrics and elaborate on the lyrical themes...however, I do believe that some of my updates are important, such as the addition of photos where there were none...I come from a small town and know a lot of the metal acts here so it's easy access for me to get info on those bands. It's thrilling for one reason or another to recieve points, however I'm pretty sure I won't have enough time to get past the 500 mark any time soon so if I do get reprimanded, it'll all be okay. I guess what I'm asking is if adding a myspace link is pointwhoring for sure? I only do it because I frequent the MySpace site a lot and it's a quick and easy way for a person interested in a band to get a sampling of music from that band.
