adding myspace links to band pages is OK it is not pointwhoring

pointwhoring = adding USELESS links such as interviews/reviews (except if those are the only proofs about the band's existence), 16956589 useless merchandise links

Same for band photos, no problem if you add correct photos with up-to-date line-up or photos taken from myspace: what is not allowed = drawings/demo covers as pictures

for lyrical themes, be careful though because sometimes it's not easy to find the correct lyrical themes and adding some keywords based only on SONG TITLES = wrong

recently a guy added lyrical themes like this: night, day, killing etc just because track titles had those words :|

you can also send a PM to bands to ask about some info: that's what I usually do, sending PM + URL of their fan page here or post in guestbooks

Definitely agree with you on the lyrics themes thing, I'll be more than careful to verify that the bands would or do agree with my classifications. Thanks so much for the tips.

You can also gain points by REPORTING MISTAKES : line-up changes, dead links, if you want to put a better pic/logo/album cover on a band page, wrong tracklisting for an album/demo, etc ....

He's adding X Band @ metalkingdom.com as a fansite, I think.

Blind Guardian, Metallica, Megadeth, Iced Earth. It has been hard to find a big band that doesn't feature this link until I tried Anthrax.

X Band @ Friedhof Magazine as a fan site for Spanish bands: Foscor, Mixomatosis, Hidden Project, Absenta, Sorgerth, The Doenspiral to Hell, Fallen Sentinel, Scent of Death, Numen (Esp), Barbarian Prophecies, etc.

I think this guy is from Friedhof Magazine (webmaster or something like that). He has friedhof as his homepage.

yeah now the bootleg thread is less used but I did it at some point where we had to remove bootlegs from band discographies nearly everyday :|

Not really pointwhorring but this is in the additional notes of a band. "This band is a total joke. The singer cries at night as life is too dramatic and real to handle."

The past members says "The one with the sword
Mr.Menstruation pants
Clowny"

The lyrics also say "Fairies and Tales about Incest" which both seem incorrect after seeng the track titles and reading the lyrics.
The band appears to be a fairly typicalambient black metal band but this seems to be sabotage. Mortified_Reality is the last to update this band.

Currently it is the top band on the recently submitted list.

As he is from America, he could watch bible.tv or perhaps Christian pray streams via internet. Supplies could be ordered with the phone.
