I've noticed the hateful-metal.de links on some band pages lately, and they seem kinda worthless. Here is an example, for Nargaroth.

My question is, are these any good, and should they be reported? They seem as worthwhile as wiki links to me, but I wanted to make sure before I reported any. Also, I wasn't sure if this warranted a new thread, so I stuck it here. My apoligies if this was wrong.

However, hateful metal is a great review site if you speak German. Just as a recommendation. Links to it on band pages make no sense at all of course.

I was looking at the Lurker of Chalice page today: http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=37266

The links section contains a lot of weird stuff under "official merchandise", including links to CD Universe and Bestprices.com.

Is stuff like this appropriate or should links like this be deleted upon sight?

Honestly you czn nuke them..

No need to have links to all distros/labels selling those merchandise: main label/some distros are enough

Evenfiel gave him his points back (what a great idea...) and yeah since yesterday he got more than 400 points. According to him (+ some mods) his updates are OK... (I'm not that sure...)

anyway I warned him that if he fucks things up again, this time he will be banned for good and blacklisted

he adds some releases, links to other bands and also apparently track lenghts but I don't know how he can get 400 points in 1 day (even me I can't....)

I unbanned him because the points he gained up to the veteran status were legit updates. He was not adding useless links and, as far as I'm concerned, did not vandalize the site.

He just sent me a lengthy e-mail about his updates. Seriously, you guys should stop caring so much about veterans gaining points.

I will suggest something can't someone keep the Veteran status without having any point? That will be easier to update many things without being scared to be reported as point whoring and loose the points --> no more updates.

User Baptized_in_hell currently goes through bands alphabetically adding links to darklyrics.com as official website.

He seems to have stopped... for now.

And yes, it seemed wise to try and stem the tide, otherwise we would have ended up with crappy links all over the place. Which would mean a nasty cleanup job for Christkiller. :wink:

I fixed the sites mentioned above, but he keeps doing it. He will only stop after he has added all the Darklyrics-links... Please ban him.

I wrote him a message some hours ago to stop what he was doing, but there was no response so far.

stopped???? Well, Atherea seems to be the last band that he has changed.
