It doesn't sound very manly.

It has nothing to do with "sounding manly" it just isn't metal...

If a band sounds like SOAD or any other nu metal band, keep it away from this site. It would be in your best interest.

For the moderators: Is it ok if I submit a band which will only release the album next week (official release date)? I'm only asking because some band I submited was rejected because the album wasn't released at the submission date, even if I had the promo with complete tracklists and covers.
I just wanna avoid this now.

No. If they haven't released anything yet then they won't get accepted.

Better wait for next week, I would leave it pending till then anyway. If it is a label band, you could submit it now and we could wait so for the release, but you are risking its deletion in the meantime.

As an exanple, the first Galloglass album was postponed for nearly two years, even if I have seen the cover and tracklist and heard some samples in late 2001.
The second Luca Turalli album was also delayed for several months etc.

Thanks for the answer. But then this applies to the last band which was accpeted too, I guess? Check Chaos Blood, there's not even a release date for their album, "Shattered Skull".

The album might not have been released yet but they do have a self titled prior release (2006)

Plus this band is already present

I'm just wondering about why some bands with literally no proof of existance are submitted. For instance, I was searching so bands on the website and I found that, they only had a discography in the additional notes and that they had no links.

How do these bands get accepted?

Really, do not ask over and over about the same stuff.
http://www.metal-archives.com/board/vie ... hp?t=27546

There are replies on similar topic from several moderators all over this forum, you have only to find the older post.

When me, christkiller or atery submit a band from old magazine/fanzine, it could often happen, that there is no tracklist in original review. Then we list the album in the additional notes. For newbie users, it is possible to do so, but they have to offer also a proof that the release exists by linking to distros, reviews, collections, cover image on the net etc. Clear enough?

I think SO,coz vocals and a lot lots of riffs sounds really like Death Metal but with big punk/HC influence.

If it's not on the blacklist, stop asking here whether your band is metal enough, and give it a shot. If you really fuck up, it might be a good learning experience for you.

Wasn't there some band of scientists from Antartica playing on Live Earth? Nothing to do with metal though.

The Supersuckers are from Antarctica now?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Supersuckers

The guys at cd baby are selling the band's stuff, not doing extensive research on band histories, so they put in the location they get from the band's bio/promo sheet. And some American bands obviously find it especially funny to be listed so. Do not ask me why, as a long term joke it is just pretty poor.

I do not want to start a new topic on this:
I am currently writing a review on Devilry and checked their lyrics and there are some weird things added. They are taken from their homepage, yet they are only the chorus elements and not the entire ones. Keep them or nuke them.
see here:
http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=10546
and here:
http://www.devilry.us/unleashed_to_haunt_lyrics.php
Is this acceptable?

http://www.myspace.com/blaxmythonline
Direct quote-
Influences:
Jimi Hendrix

Public Enemy
Sounds Like: GHETTO (mutha-fu@&ing) METAL, BABY!

I am speechless.

The majority find the term offensive, near as I can tell.

Incomplete lyrics should obviously be fixed. As for animated gifs, I don't mind it, granted it's discrete and unobtrusive.

That's fucking dismal. I think that was possibly blatant. I don't know this guy's listening habits (I probably wouldn't want to know, either), but something is obviously wrong here.

http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=163542

I just added the debut release of Methadol to their site. The EP is 'officially' untitled, yet the band wrote me this:
Methadol wrote:
This MCD is our first release, so we didn't give it a name (but if you need a name for the site, you can call it Methadol)

I have added this to the notes of the album or is this not acceptable and should it therefore be renamed to 'Untitled'?

"Untitled" is not good idea IMO

hmmm
