May 2005 will probably never happen again, unless GLM_Kommando and I do 250+ submissions each like before... :D

Thrash metal? Sorry, that just can't be an honest mistake. It's called trolling, and I vote for instant banning.

Yeah, seriously, what the fuck is this shit? Thrash my ass, this doesn't even approach any metal genre in the slightest, not even nu metal, unless they deliberately picked their four least metal songs for their Myspace, and the rest of their stuff sounds nothing like this.

I just remember that he had lost a lot of points before he left. I believe it was around 3000-4000. I wasn't a mod yet when that happened so I don't know the details.

35 accepted bands the previous three days and 140 today? Can the submissions really be so much better now?

The queue was closed for a while, every time we re-open it there's a massive influx of submissions. It's like all those bands that couldn't added in the past week or something appeared all of a sudden. Which beats the very purpose of locking the queue, IMO.

Yes I know that the submissions increase, but at the same time the time to deal with each submission decrease just as drastically... And I doubt it's all about help from reports. I guess a lot of these accepted bands come from trusted users, but hardly all. Is locking the queue an excuse to work slower?
:uh oh:

Yes, you have a point there. The band would not have been here had someone not blindly taken your word at face value. This is something you cannot really be blamed for.

As such, I'm not going to ban/durst you, or even take your points. But I am going to have to ask that you refrain from making band submissions (reviews and reports do not apply) until further notice. This can't even be called a borderline case, and as near as I can tell, it wasn't some silly side-project rule exception, either (I despise that fucking thing). No, this is very clearcut. There is no excuse for a mod to have accepted this, yes; but there is also no excuse for having submitted it.

(edited for grammar)

Those bands sitting in the queue for a month were left there because they're a pain in the ass. Most are borderline cases that require listening to many tracks before passing up a verdict, some are tough to find on google or only have pages in foreign languages...

I'll usually let the ones I labor with decision-wise ferment in the queue a little longer, either for another mod to give them a shot or to just go back some time later so they can, I don't know, reinvent themselves to me. And a lot of them are a pain in the ass, as MMisantropo said.

What I do not understand is why those who submit bands do not add links. There are quite a bunch of bands in the queue which have no additional information where to listen to there music. Take this band:
http://www.metal-archives.com/pendingband.php?id=87821
I searched at google for them. 24.300.000 hits... great...

With relatively new bands, don't even bother using google, just search on myspace and you have a 90% chance of finding them:

Hi

Just found this review in a old fanzine ,

http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/4227 ... ionom2.jpg

i´ve browsed the internet searching for this but nothing...
I think this is a diferent band but I´m afraid this Mutilation (US) might be one of the 2 Mutilation (US) in MA, so i didn´t submit it.

Can any mod help? is there any knowledge of this release? can this band be submitted ?

You can submit them. It's a totally different Mutilation who were out of California. They later changed their name to Cannibalistic Mutilation to avoid confusion with the NY and Ohio bands of the same name. Looks like you took that out of an old Wild Rags catalog. Which issue of the 'zine do you have? I have so many of those still laying around...

Well, during the week I work two jobs and we're also in the process of finding a new house to move to this spring/summer; so, I don't have too much time for the queue. I look at a couple bands every morning before work and that's about it. During the weekend is when I'm most active. Last Saturday/Sunday I worked on the queue each day for at least 4 hours.

Tell me about it. I don't understand why the stupid music player works fine half of the time and the other times it doesn't want to load at all. To make matters worse, I'm stuck on a shitty 56K modem...

OK, I'm having a problem with the band I just submitted "Satanic Funeral". When I submitted it, and completed the info I returned to inspect the submission. To my suprise, for some reason, there were 3 full lenghts added to this band which had no details. I'm not sure why it did this.

Also I have the coverart for the demo, but it's too big. What should I do?

Resize the picture. You can use Photoshop, or you can use a free utility like GIMP or Serif Photoplus (which is what I use).

here is the perfect example of very good report for a band in the queue

"Angelique Sorrow"

I didn't manage to find any proof on the internet this band ever released, or even recorded, anything. A search either for Angelique Sorrow, Angelique Sorrow band, Angelique sorrow metal band, Angelique sorrow band Greece etc. only leads to the myspace pages of two of the bandmembers, where no music is ever mentioned or available to hear (they only mention they play in "a gothic metal band called Angelique Sorrow"). No trace of an official site, or upcoming live shows, either.
