I've been wondering this for a while...

A local record label, drp Records, always holds release parties at The Silo a few weeks (and in some cases, months) before the actual release date.

Now, since I don't really pay attention to the actual release date, as I always mark these parties as a BIG date on my calender, I never really noticed that these release parties actually preceded the in-store release date.

However... here's the thing.

An upcoming release by The Gloominous Doom on drp Records/Overdose On Records is set for an official release date of November 20th.

The CD release party is November 10th.

The tricky thing is... if I were to go see The Gloominous Doom on say, November 15th... they would offer the album for sale at their merch booth.

So what would be the acceptable release date for that CD? November 10th since then after that point the band would offer the CD for sale at their merch table... or November 20th - the date that it would be available in local stores and online.

The date when it goes for sale at their gig is o.k. but you and all the other users have to to show some proof - at least info from the band newspage.
