It's getting ridiculous. I people keep re-assigning the live album tag to the infinite number of 'official bootleg' releases this band puts out. Then they start labeling actual live albums as EPs or whatnot. It really should be like Iron Maiden's page where it's locked so it doesn't constantly shift. Either that, or just list all those official bootlegs as an unofficial discography in the notes like on Razor's page. That would help so much.

Also, in the album type selection drop-down it would be nice to have 'mini-album' as a listing to help stop EP abuse.

1. Locked bands as it has been implemented don't get new albums added, but the main page and already existent albums can be edited normally.

2. Mini-album and EP are synonyms. What would handle this problem nicely would be the option of tagging releases as live EPs, live demos, live splits, etc.

1. Forgot about that, sorry. I thought there was something that could be implemented for very popular bands that made it so only mods could fiddle with the information on that band's page.

2. I wasn't clear. The mini-albums wasn't in response to the Dream Theater situation. It's from singles and demos being listed as EPs all the time. Just because it has more than two tracks but less than 7 tracks does not make it an EP, and too many members, and even bands, don't seem to understand this. EP has more to do with running time than content, but for whatever reason, mini-album as a term did not catch on as much as EP did. EPs, to me, signify something essential from a band, whereas a demo or single is not, and that's why every little thing being labeled as an EP drives me crazy! I like the idea of specifying live EP, live demo, etc. I brought the idea up about 5 years ago, but the powers that be determined it was not necessary at that time.

I know what you mean, but I can't think of any good way to prevent this. Stupidity is boundless.
