Agent Black (the one man heavy/power/black/thrash metal outfit from Japan) sent me a CD in the mail called "Fireborn - Promotion CD". It has 6 tracks (two appear to be demo versions that Kim will change later and two are remixes of old songs), but it says "not for sale" at the bottom. I'm not aware of how much this disk has been distributed, but would this be a valid release to add onto his page on the M-A?

Thank you.

As you say, it's really hard to tell without knowing anything about the quantity or distribution. Why did you get it? I mean it could be a demo given away to friends or more of a promo, which you happened to get for a review (or because you're a spectacular fan). This would be supported by the "not for sale" bit and the promo title. But then again, it really depends on the distribution and intent.

He sent it to me because I was looking for information about the band (due to making the M-A page on him) and he said that he would send information with his new "demo". No information came, but a CD did. It does have a small cover, but it's just inserted into a CD-R case and the demo is printed on a CD-R.

I don't know really. To me that sounds like it could be a demo never meant for release (that is, a couple of demo takes - much like a reahearsal). If some notice about it being released comes up on websites though, or you actually ask the guy, then it would be eligible.

...
Nevermind that, I just checked the official site.It would seem like he's selling it. Thus it's a valid release.
