Just dont't know how to explain, but sometimes I'm searching(As well as others) on eBay auctionsrare and unknown/obscure bands(Demos),but in most of cases Im realy confused, because ebay almost the only source if you'll find rare for example demo but it's some kind of 50/50 fits here(I mean Heavy Metal and similar) in M-A.I mean sellers label genres of these Demos as they want and I sometimes have big troubles with it.

For example take This One

Never seen this band before and i'ts maybe the only chanse to subbmit this band in M-A,but these genres labeled as Hair Metal get on my nerves, because I cant subbmit it without hearing music, but otherwise if band fits M-A rules all info can be lost, because these demos released is small quantities.

Yes, I have noticed that they label everything eighties/traditional looking as "hair metal", but on the other hand, some glam/alternative bands were labelled as thrash there. So hard to tell, but try to find info elsewhere on google, at least some wanted lists of trustful collectors or something like that.

That depends on the seller some sellers are too lame and label everything as metal I made the mistake once, you need to check all the seller lis inorder to see if he labeled the more known bands as hey should be labeled.

MADEL FANG are discussed in an AOR-Melodic rock forum, I think this determines their style.

Yes, that is why I have rejected them. They could be accepted only with samples or convincing reviews.

On the other hand, even Sonata Arctica ans Stratovarius are often discussed in aor forums....

I think it is hard to rely on sellers at e-bay. I found several bands which were labelled as 'metal' (in some variations), but they turned out to be rock or the like... Some sellers know what they are talking about other do not really care.

I found guy on ebay who describe all his demo as heavy metal
Maybe few was heavy :/
People looking for rare heavy metal demos... not for rock. Thats why some of sellers describe their tapes as heavy :P
