So there's a bunch of bands on here that have no discography, no links, not even a band logo or anything, and nothing at all shows up on google (and yes I've tried and varied the keywords but nothing) (and I mean bands that have 0 search results, even by searching only their name) so I'm wondering how the "proof of existence" applies and why most of the bands I've sumbitted have at least a few credible links but won't be accepted on the encycopedia for not enough proof of existence?

Cause the majority of the bands you submitted are more in the core side then the metal side.

Many of the links that originally provided proof of those bands existence no longer exist themselves or where not of enough relevance to link to the pages. Also, information could have been obtained through zines and other non-internet based means. However the majority of those submissions were created by trusted members who have been submitting bands for some time, not a new member.

Also, proof of existence is not proof that the band existed it's proof that at some point they had a physical release. If you can't prove that in some manner then the bands should not be here.

First, the band must have at least released SOME material. If you don't even have a demo... forget it. The band might have been formed, even got a logo, but how will we know that they won't just disband before even recording any song? An mp3 or two on MySpace or mp3.com-like websites is not enough. The band must have a demo out - this is the minimum. If you want to add your band, and you *know* you will release something soon, simply wait until it's released before submitting it!

As this rule was added several months after the site's launch, it's possible that some bands already on the Encyclopaedia are breaking it. If you KNOW a band listed here that virtually doesn't exist, feel free to report it.
(Note that 0 results on Google might not prove it doesn't exist, but it doesn't mean it never existed either - it just helps us if we see a mention somewhere on the Web...)

And what the others already said.
You can access all that from a main page, can you tell me one valid reason , why are you constantly asking the mods about things, which you can easily find out yourself just by reading few simple rules???

Maybe it's because the rules say you need proof of existence yet doesn't seem to apply??? Geez. You mods are mouthy when there's nothing to mouth off at.

And oh yeah, most of the bands I've submitted are not on the -core side, a few of the grind ones I admit could be if it's a subjective issue but most of them are just not talked about enough on the internet is all.

Can you explain to me how that rule doesn't seem to apply?
