I was told that why Gaahl and King are acknowledged as the current Gorgoroth line-up and not Infernus is because that they are touring with the name.
This is false.
Gaahl and King are touring under the name "The Force of Gorgoroth", probably because they dare not risk being sued for copyright infringement.

So technically that means that Gaahl and King are NOT part of Gorgoroth anymore. They have left, probably because they realised that this one battle they cannot win.


Now will the band info be changed?

this is a reason to NOT open another (again). is it so difficult?

recently we received a couple of messages from gaahl and king manager saying that they are the real gorgoroth and that king registered the name somewhere in norwegian copyright (or something like that), that infernus will lose blah blah blah.
to everyone please wait until everything is clear.

Their manager is full of shit.

I still feel that MA information on the band is bias, and unrighteously so.

I really think that we should show where we stand on this, surely MA does not support this mutiny.

Evenfiel has modified the page this week to feature statements from both side and the current OFFICIAL stance. Our aim is to provide correct info on bands, not to take part in a war among band members or fight for the only true Gorgoroth.
We will wait for the cout legal decision, as it was told previously.

But on the bands MA page the profile picture is of Gaahl and King.
In that case I think the bands profile pic should be an old pic, of the whole band.

Since they are the current line-up, it makes sense.

Anyway, the locking the old thread should signify to you, that further discussion on it is not welcome- read the forum rules. It will stay as it is now, unless the court decision is made. Period.

2) Neutral information

We want and welcome opinions – for the reviews section! In the band encyclopaedia, the description needs to be as neutral as possible. For example, in the “genre” field, do not fill out “kick-ass TRUE black metal” or “wimpy keyboard-based goth fag music”. Keep that for the reviews. And even there, try to be more original (just a suggestion…).
Do NOT write stuff, in the lineup or notes fields or anywhere else, that promotes or bashes the band in question! Do not write a biography in the first person, e.g. "This is my band we formed last year, we sound like band X and draw influences from Y, etc etc". That kind of text will just get edited out.

I totally agree, the profile clearly states that there's a legal dispute, in my opinion that's as objective as it gets and that's enough information about the whole thing. Hell, to change the lineup information you could even wait until any of both bands have some new release out there.

I just don't see why Infernus can't be up there with the rest of the current line-up, it's THE most objective solution.

Infernus will win, there is nothing more obvious about it. The only way for Gaahl and King to win this would be to have Infernus killed, but that's not going to happen.
