They are listed as "Ol!/Black Metal". It should just be Black Metal.

I really don't hear stoner riffing. I think Heavy Metal/Hard Rock or Doom Metal /Hard Rock would be more fitting.

Anyone?

I have no samples, but their album is horrible groovy stompin' music with one Speed Metal song as collateral. Does not pass as Thrash.

The Crowned Virgin: "Death/'Black' Metal/Grindcore"

"Death/'Black' Metal" is fine. There's no elements of grind in their music.
http://www.myspace.com/thecrownedvirgin

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Butcher the Baker: "Death Metal/Grindcore"
ABACABB: "Death Metal/Grindcore"

Both of these bands are deathcore.

http://www.myspace.com/butcherthebakerbtb
http://www.myspace.com/abacabb

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hatchet Dawn: "Gothic/Black Metal"

Not black metal. I'd say more groove metal than anything.

Masokismi: "Blackcore"

This should be changed to Black Metal/Noisecore. I'm sure many are mislead by the "blackcore" tag.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

http://metal-archives.com/advanced.php?band_name=&band_status=&genre=Gore%2F&themes=&origin=0&location=&bandLabel=&release_name=&release_type=&label=&release_year=

All the forward slashes after "gore" can be taken out.

Goth/industrial for their later genre is a bit misleading, because it could mean just simple electronic music, but they're still a metal band. I suggest Industrial/Gothic Metal

Pagan Metal? I think that is undescriptive, it could mean anything. Folk Metal is a lot better in my opinion, or it might be black enough to be considered folk/black.

Black Metal/Ambient is a bit misleading. I'd suggest Black Metal/Post-punk, because the band is very similar to Amesoeurs.

Well Amesoeurs is labeled post-punk here, so since this band sounds similar i though it should be labeled as BM/post-punk as well. It was labeled black metal/ambient before the change, which was absurd.

After reading Amesoeurs's reviews, it seems that post-punk is indeed correct. It just seemed to me too stupid of an idea for to different bands to adopt it.

What about Martyrdöd? Labeled as Black/Death Metal/Hardcore here, but sounds like Blackened Crust to me. I hear basically no Death Metal at all.

If it is Crust, Blackened or not, shouldn't be deleted?

It's a borderline matter. Some crust bands are very metallic so to me it depends. I have listened to Martyrdöd before and they do sound very metallic. Feel free to object.

"Melodic Extreme Metal" wouldn't Melodic Black/Death Metal do because extreme is really an obscure term..

Modern Black Metal?

Melodic Modern Metal?

Most likely means "Heavy Metal/Hard Rock.

http://metal-archives.com/band.php?id=117115

Melodic Metal (early), Modern Heavy/Groove Metal (later)?

It should probably be Hard Rock (Early), Groove Metal (Later)
_____________________________________________________________________________________
http://metal-archives.com/band.php?id=22336

Thrash Metal, Modern Rock?

I listened to their myspace samples. All of their songs were pure Thrash except for about 2 of them. Perhaps they should be listed as "Thrash Metal with Rock elements" or "Thrash Metal with Rock influences". I could be completely wrong though. Let me know what you think.
_____________________________________________________________________________________
http://metal-archives.com/band.php?id=11383

Post-thrash, groove, modern?

The "modern" part should probably be removed.
_____________________________________________________________________________________

The "instrumental" part should be removed, it's already in the lyrical themes.

Krofader:

I haven't found any samples, but I seriously doubt that this band founded in the late 80's would fulfill today's definition of deathcore, especially with the influences listed on their page. They are probably more along the lines of Death/Thrash/Crossover.

Demenekan - done.
XXXtreme - done (and who cares xD deathcore, metalcore...)
ksevile - all done (one of this bands was Moder Thrash and in additional notes was something like "similar to early Metallica", really modern thing)
todesengel_hell - not done ;P (find samples...)

Ksevile, you should bring more detailed information if you want us to eradicate the "modern" tag. And please, don't edit your posts. I bet that most of those "modern thrash" bands had little to do with thrash and more in common with groove metal and metalcore, but now their pages are actually less informative than before, and the damage is possibly irreparable.

I'm not convinced. It has some chugga chugga riffs, but so does Dimmu Borgir.

I'm sorry about the post editing. I should have left them there. I consider "modern" (In terms of music) to be too broad and uncertain of a term. There seems to be a debate over what the specific sound is. It could have multiple meanings ranging from your example to just bands that formed in 2000 or later. It could also describe the "Thrash Revivalists" sound (Warbringer, Violator, Evile etc) as well.

I took another listen to Diablero and don't really hear any death metal. I think "Thrash Metal/Punk/Grindcore" would be more fitting.
