Sent him a warning. Don't have time to revert his edits though.

I reverted them, so that's taken care of.

User: sweetsaltbones (https://www.metal-archives.com/users/sweetsaltbones)
Was only active in October-December last year, but created a mess during that time and has now received 3 warnings for adding albums to bands that they don't belong to. In user profile: "If I add any wrong albums, it is because it was on their Spotify and I'm sorry :) have forgiveness pls, I'm stupid"
Probably worth looking at their edit history to see what other mistakes have been made.

To avoid edit wars, this user should be informed about proper Polish capitaliztion rules:

Blacklist circumvention. Look at the band he submitted https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Da ... 3540486815 and how it's actually spelled. At the time of submission, the band was still blacklisted and if you check the blacklist you'll easily find out that the band is still there despite the fact that it is accepted now. Also, he spelled the name of the self-titled release correctly https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/D ... ple/941119 so the only conclusion that can be drawn from this is that he deliberately spelled the band name wrong to circumvent the blacklist (also the keys l, i, and e aren't really next to each other on the keyboard).

Here is when the band was last appealed and afterward it was submitted by the OP and was rejected and blacklisted once again. viewtopic.php?f=27&t=130958
Since then the band had no new releases.

https://www.metal-archives.com/users/Dr_Zed

Dr_Zed likes duplicating digital versions a lot; even if tracklist of the album is the same, cover art is the same, but publishing date on other platform/label's platform differs, he adds it as the separate version. Or is this considered legit? For example:

I add what appears to be a duplicate digital version because the version-field is not filled in. Thus, I add another version from a known-host, and make sure that version has the version-field filled in with the known-host and correct release date. How can anybody tell it is a duplicate without the host filled in? It could have come from anywhere. The rules said this a few weeks ago: You must show us where this album is hosted; acceptable distribution methods include any legitimate music portals that offer full downloads, be they global or more local (most prominently iTunes, Amazon, CDBaby, Bandcamp...). Additionally, I discussed this issue with Hellblazer, who told me to put the version there. I cannot merely add the version I am looking at to the existing version when somebody else placed the version without showing the version-field since I have no idea where it came from. Many versions are released the same day, so the date does not tell us it is a duplicate without the version-feild filled in.

There should only be one digital version listed per release.

Hello KingSpooky...you also told me "There should only be one digital version listed per release, rather than an independent version, a version that is on a label's Bandcamp page, etc." So what do we do if there is an independent digital version without any host, even though the rules say the host MUST be listed, and the label publishes another version of the same release on a bonefide bandcamp page with a different date published? Should we instead overwrite the wrongly-listed independent version without any host with the corrected label published date and a corrected host?

Hi Dr. Zed,
If there is a label and an independent digital release that take place at the same time, the label one should be the one that gets listed. In general, the one that came earliest would be best, though (if the independent version came a day earlier, that should be the main entry rather than a later label version). New downloadable versions, unless they're different (remastered, bonus tracks, etc., in which case they should have an additional entry) can be listed in the additional notes of the digital release version. Thanks.

As your report says, it's a promotional track without unique cover art. Deleted.

Can someone please tell Gutterscream to stop sabotaging my edits regarding lyrics and songwriting? I caught him doing this a few times and when I asked him about it when he did it for Slayer's Show No Mercy he provided no valid explanation whatsoever. Now I caught him doing the same thing again for Arch Enemy's Wages of Sin https://www.metal-archives.com/history/ ... /id/450396 and I provided those credits from the exact album booklet. Here https://www.discogs.com/Arch-Enemy-Wage ... ter/113282 take a look if you don't believe me. I know he is a former mod but I don't think this should excuse such behavior. Moreover, if the ordinary user who never was mod or doesn't have a metal knight status did this, he would probably receive a warning or even a ban. So I really think something should be done about this.

Hello.
I hope this is the correct place to mention this.
This user has added tons of artists for bands that are nowhere to be found - at least, I wasn't able to find anything. There's probably still some bands with traceable material that could be eligible for the site or, ultimately, just to be deleted and to remove hundreds of orphan entries to the site. Some artists he added were already deleted and he has only 8 points, so, I guess that whatever he did to actually contribute to the site, was just too little and beyond all these added artist pages.
Also, he stopped his activity on the site in 2017.

If someone around here has some free time to look deeper into this, I will (and we all will) appreciate it:

Also, I would like to ask someone to help me purge all of this user's https://www.metal-archives.com/users/gazza15 "artist" entries. He submitted a spam band and added a lot of fake artists and labels. I purged all of the labels but I can't purge the artist entries, so I would appreciate it if someone would be willing to help me with this since some of the reports regarding those fake entries are cluttering the report queue. https://www.metal-archives.com/report/view/id/755670

All of Gazza's fake artists have been deleted. After a solid hour of working on it, MetalLord33's mess is cleaned up as well.

Hello.
Could someone delete the artist pages added by this user? They're linked to a blacklisted band (see update history) that's nowhere to be found.
https://www.metal-archives.com/users/DevinAllen666

Also this:
https://www.metal-archives.com/users/Craig_theRipper

All those artists added on March 18th are orphan entiries - apart from Duncan Bantley. They're either from bands without valid releases or projects that seem to have disappeared completely.

Thanks

Great work, thanks.
Here's another user who have submitted artist that are now orphan entries - linked to a band that's nowhere to be found. These artists' pages can be deleted.
https://www.metal-archives.com/users/demontekken

Edit:
The artists this user added are from a blacklisted band. They can be deleted too:
