Morri already sent him a warning yesterday; he hasn't been online to read it yet.

This user: http://www.metal-archives.com/users/metal_headbanger

Incorrectly added the lineup to this album, seemingly based on whoever was in the current band lineup. http://www.metal-archives.com/history/v ... /id/161639

Looks like most of his edits have been deleted/reverted, making this somewhere between point-whoring and regular incompetence.

So this was a number of months ago, but can we find out where morbidass got his info on the Drowned in Rectal Sludge line-up? He fleshed out most of the main releases in the Intestinal Disgorge catalouge (a number of which feature odd line-ups such as 3/4 members contributing main vocals only), but on this particular album he added random performers under aliases, 3/4 of which are not even linked on the members tab of the Intestinal Disgorge page. It'd be nice to have them inked to proper artists.

http://www.metal-archives.com/users/Darktoria%20X

So he was warned about adding lyrics and lengths one by one(and more than once)? Now he's adding them something like four by one instead so he can't be scolded for adding them one by one! Point-whore! :old:

Can someone ask http://www.metal-archives.com/users/MadButcher888 not to add "instrumental" to the lyrics field.

The additions to the Kaptain Nuke page by MackanThrashingMad seem...useles? I realize that every one has a gimmick, but do we really need to be regailed with stories of Kaptain Nuke's birth-marked taint? (I don't care about reporting him, I'm just not sure where to ask if the non-sense bio needs to be removed or not)

Biographies, trivia and additional notes should ALWAYS be written in a factual, neutral, bullshit-free tone.

I've removed the garbage and will be sending "Mackan" a warning.

This user: http://www.metal-archives.com/users/Lord_Vexus
added incomplete+incorrect track lengths to this release: http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Wi ... ing/322427

Looks like the track lengths he added were simply taken from other releases, but this is a compilation and the lengths of many of them were more than a CD player's margin of error, a handful were well over 10 seconds off. Multiple versions of some songs appear at different lengths. Nothing major, but it's a bad habit of adding incorrect information.

http://www.metal-archives.com/users/bloodyripper added this DVD without tracklist: http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/35 ... tro/355323 (he added it six times, but that was probably accidentally).

He also added this album without correct/full tracklist: http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Me ... nda/355314.

And this one: http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/97 ... l_-/355315.

Anyway, I don't think sumatra is really point-whoring and it would be sad to see him banned from the site, but like I said before the additional notes he adds to bands and artists are just so poorly written; I didn't notice any improvement after OpsiusCato's message. Perhaps he'll just have to be politely asked not to write any additional notes or make them better written...

Adding links to "JorZine", which doesn't seem to offer much information not on MA. It might qualify for bands where there's not much info, but the bio briefs can be found with a google search, and the rest of the info is on MA.

Sorry. I'd thought they are useful and I've seen 'em on some bands from Middle East already.
And for future knowledge: are links to http://metalsalvadoreno.blogspot.com/ are OK for bands from El Salvador, to http://www.rock.lk/ for bands from Sri Lanka, and to http://www.rockrepublik.net/ for bands from Nicaragua? Or it's better to delete 'em? I didn't add 'em myself but somebody did it many years ago.

If there's a link to a nice, detailed biography that would either be too trivial or a pain to translate if it's in another language, then you can always add "Biography @ Metal Salvadoreno (in Spanish)" or whatever under the "Unofficial" sub-tab. It needs to be *useful* though, not something that's just a brief intro on who the band are, and so forth...

You mean those reports filed by a visitor? That isn't vandalism, mate... that's more like spam. He's not getting too far with his requests, either... relax. ;)

Obviously we won't "block reports" for the band. I've closed the reports, but since they were made by a visitor (whose IP I couldn't link to an account) there's nothing else I can do. Unless banning the IP, but since it's only harmless retard reporting just ignore it. If it escalates you can post again.

http://www.metal-archives.com/users/MallewsMaleficarvm. I'm guessing that by his first comment on his profile, adding lyrics and lengths one by one (and ignoring previous warnings) is his way of deliberately annoying the mods! Or maybe he's just a point-whore... possibly even both. :tinfoil:

Adding links to labels - wrong? But plenty of users adding them.
