Uhm, I can't name any off the top of my head to be honest. But in my hunts for band info, I've often stumbled across a band profile on Last.fm (typically from an announcement in the music page's Shoutbox).

Not that this should complicate Morri's job... it's pretty easy to single out band pages from member pages. Just eradicate any link that starts with "http://www.last.fm/music"...

Well yeah, sometimes a member of the band registers as a user (as themselves, or representing the whole band), so that they talk to some of the fans (lately even music-related sites, or even venues/bars started doing this), but last.fm allows artists to take over their artist profiles, so there are stuff like this: Evergrey on last.fm.

Yup, and that's where it gets hard to distinguish between pages that're under a band's control and those that aren't. By and large, I think the main reason Last.fm pages are forbidden from being added to a page's links is that they lead to information that any member can edit... which isn't always truthful/substantiated.

Someone added this re-release, even though it was mentioned in the original demo:
http://metal-archives.com/release.php?id=297552
Could have been this user:

You should keep an eye on user "denondekysten"

He might be the infamous mexican guy who submitted a fake bands last year

Now he added all of a sudden a new rehearsal on Krypthall page "Loath Rehearsal's"

....

I smell fake

Do you mean Zitadelle?

If so, he is back:
http://metal-archives.com/userprofile.p ... tyComander

3 of his bands submitted in the same fashion as the Zitadelle fakes, but I can't confirm they are faked..

(Kind of odd you asked about one of the bands submitted by him )

Edit: I think denondekysten is actually in Krypthall.. so I don't know if it is fake or not.

denondekysten keeps adding shit

he just changed the covers of releases he added to COMPLETELY different ones

1) to the "supposed" czech band he was part of (album cover)
2) the the new rehearsal on Krypthall page (the previous cover represented the musician himself and now its a black & white pic ...)

fake ....

Yeah, this is a difficult situation. I'm inclined to delete Krypthall and Áäharúh.

Krypthall proof is here:

http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/s ... gle+Search

and

http://primitivum-productions.webs.com/releases.htm

Edit: And if there was any confusion, I meant NegativityComander is Zitadelle returned. I have been watching him since he submitted Zabulus the first time

You'd think Zitadelle would stay away after two banned accounts?

Why was Torsofuck's "As Semen Blends With Rot" deleted?

http://www.discogs.com/Torsofuck-As-Sem ... se/1999796

Is it bootlegged?

It was never released, even as a bootleg, as far as I can tell.

User deadcenter adding his webpage dead shop as an official merchandise link.

User _Blazemth_ added the split to Anchient Forrest's page as it is mentioned in the additional notes (without the tracks of the other band)

User Tueur keeps changing X/Y to X, Y (in the line-up) in all the lately French bands I am adding. I suppose X/Y is acceptable. Maybe you can send him a warning.

What?

He means, he changes slash to comma.
For example: Bruno - Vocals/Bass, he changes it to Bruno - Vocals, Bass.

Although he did the same thing for one of my french uploaded bands some year ago, but i didnt consider it to bring it up here.

Same. It's more consistent throughout the site, and allows for easier reading.

I'm almost contemplating that somebody write up a style guide to clarify this sort of thing.

Can't agree with you there; the commas feel so slow and cumbersome to read to me.

How is something be cumbersome and slow to read?

Bloke 1 - Guitar/Vocals/Drums
Bloke 2 - Bass/Backing Vocals

Bloke 1 - Guitar, Vocals, Drums
Bloke 2 - Bass, Backing Vocals

The latter syntax also permits easier integration of this:
Bloke 1 - Guitar, Vocals (1998-2006), Drums

As opposed to this:
Bloke 1- Guitar/Vocals (1998-2006)/Drums

Maybe I'm just being too meticulous, but I think comma-and-space delimited lists are a heck of a lot easier to read... I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that V2 will handle this sort of "line-up formatting" automatically.

Maybe it would be necessary to remind user "Walpurgis_" it is not allowed to add lyrics 1 by 1 .... as he's currently doing it for "Hic Iacet" band (btw its not the 1st time he's mentioned here for pointwhoring)

The rules for adding links were slightly tweaked. Any comments?
* Do not add links to sites that require registration.
* Do not add links to sites that only have a few samples if the band already has an official MySpace, Last.fm or similar sites.
* Do not add Facebook fan sites. Official Facebook pages, maintained by the band, are allowed.
* Do not add links to forums.
* Do not add links to sites that only reproduce the information found here, like spirit-of-metal.
* Do not add interviews or reviews unless the band has almost no other source of information.
* Do not add links to non-official distros.
* Do not add links to non-English websites unless they are official sites or the band does not have other sites in English.

Do not add Facebook fan sites: what about myspace fansites? same deal according to me

Do not add links to non-official distros: I know a few users who should stop adding links to their own distro which carries 500 different bands...

Links that I often see too are Myspace links for labels.

For me they are not necessary, what's the use of having Nuclear Blast@MySpace or at Facebook

The link to the general site is enough (except if the label has of course only a myspace)

I've been watching syrian () user "silent_name666" for a while: he's been updating Absentation page for 10 minutes now, gaining 20 points... he added lyrics 1 by 1 and now he keeps getting points whereas there is nothing to updates (all lyrics/track lengths added)

387 points and no reviews/links added

400 points now, still editing the page :wtf:

I was refreshing his page just now... he ticked over to Veteran status. :ugh:

Edit: It's stopped climbing... So it's clear all he was after was Veteran level...

Edit2: Okay, problem solved. :D

Should make an exception for bands that're so hopelessly obscure that no additional information exists.

user "Descent_To_Acheron" (aka Vortigern, aka James Young) deliberately removed all links from Orpheus page to all the other bands (Spearhead, Archaicus, The One)

this is sabotage ....

Same for Tom Vallely who is also in Sanctus Nex, the link has gone
