More information about CD: http://syper-force.c0.pl/Maciej%20Podsi ... index.html
If you want buy CD, write on e mail: maciek.po@wp.pl

For me it is a heavy metal album. Only "The River" sounds like AOR, and "Ryba & Witold Rudnik" and "Outro - Burza Solo" like acoustic rock ballad. But these songs are a buffer against metal songs. Many bands interrupted sharp metal playing, lighter minatures. However, I think that by collecting all the material together, heavy metal material comes out of it. Music from the album is closer to traditional metal, that's why fans of black metal can feel unsatisfied. However, it is heavy metal, it is the father of all kinds of metal, which is why you should be a place for traditionalists in an Encyclopedia.
The title track is even power, speed metal. More material of CD is 100% metal.

P.S.
I agree that the first album MACIEJ PODSIADŁO "White Metal" is more pop rock and hard rock, than heavy metal. But singles and a new album prove the heavy metality of the project.

It is one of the few representatives of the white metal scene in Poland, in the hard & heavy trend.

Thank You and sorry for my very bad english :)

We don't consider streaming services to be valid for digital-only acceptance. It should be available in a standalone download.

Is the Treasonist from the United States that is blacklisted the one from Oregon with Jason Borton on drums? If so, is it because it is more Punk-influenced Grindcore rather than Death Metal-influenced?

Between the pretty arpeggios and the low distortion, this sounds much more like post-hardcore/screamo than anything resembling black metal. Not materially different from the originally blacklisted material.

The band was blacklisted in 2013 for being too punk-based grindcore. The songs you've linked seem to confirm that.

We listened to the entire album and while it's undeniable that there are metal songs, by our standards, the overall album is still mostly hard rock. Sorry. By the way, we certainly don't have a bias against traditional heavy metal. I'd estimate that the mod team, on average, listens to more trad metal than extreme stuff.

This still mostly sounds like the sort of bouncy pornogrind-styled goregrind that got them blacklisted in the first place.

Yes and yes. That one was pretty thoroughly evaluated, we had several yeses and several nos but in the end more people thought it was too punk-influenced.

The blacklisting is from April 2018. Which means that album you linked was already assessed and deemed unacceptable. The band was blacklisted for being predominantly -core.

Please, could you tell me, when the American band Teeze was blacklisted and if the note says something? If not, the blacklist could be feom before 2011 and in this case, I would like you to listen to these samples below. I remember rejecting them once, when I was a moderator, but after some repeated listening to their songs and getting info about the current stance on such bands i believe, that this could be possibly acceptable. They sound like a mix of Maxx Warrior and early Mötley Crüe:

Hello. I'm suggesting re-evaluation of polish band Despizer. Their first album was mainly crust/d-beat, but their second release ("Pogarda") is a mixture of black/thrash metal with crust. Ok, vocals are still typical for hardcore music (except for "Transilvanian Hunger" cover with Herr Warcrimer on vox), but (in my opinion) riffs are "metal enough".

Just checking to see if Grinder could be relooked at.

https://grindergrind.bandcamp.com/album/the-black-ep

I figured it was blacklisted because it was too short or it wasn’t metal enough (I guess those are the two options lol). If it was cus it was too short and now that album length isn’t really a thing now, might be worth a 2nd check. The riffs sound metal to me, the vocals are, well, caffeinated. Lol.

Hi,

now that SALQIU has released its 3rd full length album, entitled "The Blackness Within", I would like for you to re-evaluate removing it from the blacklist.
You can check the new album here: https://salqiu.bandcamp.com/album/the-blackness-within

As stated before, the project is Black Metal based, yet visiting the avantgarde paths with the adding of industrial, orchestral, electronic, atmospheric and jazzy elements. Still, the idea has always been the labelling of it as "Avantgarde Black Metal".

Thank you in advance for your consideration
Best,
Nuno Lourenço, the ghoul behind Salqiu

Yes, it's this one. Blacklisted in 2016 for being harsh noise, which it seems like all their other releases are. This release is still more punk than metal, IMO; if it's their only non-noise release I'd definitely say we can't add them to MA based on that alone.

Hi both. Kickback from France is actually blacklisted, which I can understand as they started out back in 1991 as plain hardcore (even if it turned out metal-ish from Forever War, 1997, and Les 150 Passions Meurtrières, 2000), but honestly, their last three releases (No Surrender, 2009 ; Et le Diable rit avec Nous, 2011 ; Split w/Vomir, 2013) had a big change in sound. Being not fond of genre-debating, I'll put it like that however : darkened, sludgey, blackish remnants of hardcore.

Also, I won't compare with other hardcore bands (American, European, and obviously French) on the site that sound quite like/have been influenced by them (though I have many in mind). Still I would like to know if moderators/admins tend to reconsider this band.

Cheers.

Hi there,
I'm new here and hope I don't make a mistake posting this here, if so, please correct me.
I tried to add the Band Bait from Germany, however it says it's blacklisted.
IMHO the music of the Band is some mix of Hardcore and Black Metal. However I think the Black Metal dominates a lot. Most Songs are basically Black Metal with Hardcore-ish Vocals.
( Link to Bandcamp https://baitofficial.bandcamp.com/ )
They also have two Albums on physical releases.

Greetings

So this is a complicated case, I talked about it a bit with some other mods. I would say Amorality, the compilation of all the band’s grindcore songs, is technically an acceptable release (albeit barely; there’s still a fair bit of punk in there). But the band still releases harsh noise 90% of the time, and this release kind of cherry-picks across their discography to create a fully metal release that’s the same length as the harsh noise albums. It’d be like if Slipknot chose the three metal songs they make per album, and stuffed them all on a “best of” compilation, and we had to accept then because technically they have a “valid metal release” even if that’s totally against the spirit of our guidelines. We have to look at the big picture and acknowledge that the band does not seem serious enough about the grindcore it releases to make a full-length album in that style which is of equal importance to the harsh noise it’s creating most of the time. Because of that, we’ll keep the band blacklisted unless they release a full-length of new grind material that’s unambigously acceptable.

Greetings
Knuschberkeks

No mistake in posting here, you’re in the right place! Welcome to MA! :) So this band was blacklisted in 2015 for, as you can guess, being more hardcore than metal. Listening to the new album from 2016, that still seems to be the case. There’s black metal influence, yes, but the base of the music sounds like Converge with some darker chords and riffs occasionally added in. This is definitely still mostly punk, IMO. Blacklisting stays for now.

Thank you Mutant as always!

I have a question about Anal Nosorog (Russia), I found a thread which Azmo said on (03 Nov 2016 05:55) "We dislike live clips as a basis for judging a band, often hard to properly discern the music, but the two studio tracks sound pretty much exactly like the kind of groovy grind a la Anal Nosorog we don't accept. More based in punk than metal." But I can't find the other band in comparation, so I'm guessing that someone linked live clips to the staff about other band and sounds like Anal Nosorog and I don't know where it is.. Or I missunderstood and someone linked live clips of Anal Nosorog? Next comment is about this band "Svlphvrvs" which is non-metallic grindcore 100%, doesn't worth a shot. So I'm lost here. Anal Nosorog is really strange because has metal sections, pretty much IMO. Cheers.

Anal Nosorog was being used as a comparison in that case, it seems, not being evaluated. Their blacklist note has no date (meaning it's old) and just says "grind". I listened to a couple of their albums and they're still pretty bouncy and punk-influenced, I'm leaning no. Another mod agrees. Blacklisting stays.

A friendly reminder that we don't try to document bands with "metal sections". We want to document bands with fully metal albums. I've noticed you bring up a lot of grindcore bands that, according to our standards, may have occasional "metal sections" but not metal albums. You may want to consider that your definition of metal is different from ours - which is fine - and be more careful about bringing up those bands unless you're absolutely sure that they would belong on the website by our own standards.

For some older stuff that still needs addressing:

Like Morrigan said above (lol), definitely not riff-based enough to be considered metal by our standards - too much electronic stuff.

Cheers.

No Surrender : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3hQ-5Lfulo
Et le Diable rit avec Nous : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wNxy3ySBk4
"Soleil Noir" (from the 2013 split) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMacUzOvgfo

"Remnants" of hardcore? :???: This still sounds like relatively typical metalcore on the hardcore side of the fence. Not really predominantly metal.

Got it 101% thanks :)

I got plenty of bands in draft (and others on my head) that fit according with the rules but there's not any physical proof or official downloadable content oooor at least minimum acceptable material length :/

Hey, ostalgik, if those bands in your draft are really metal and you know, that they have some valid releases, You can ppost them in the "Potential Additions" thread on this forum: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=104654&p=2818542#p2818542
In this thread, other users help you to find info about the band, that you have posted there, usually missing samples and missing pphysical rleases. I myself have several bands there waiting for more info and was able to add at least one band with the info found there by another user !Jack Off Guys(. It might work for you too, just don't forget to read the initial post on the first page.

In addition to what Witcher said, as of September, there is no "minimum acceptable material length". The 20-minute rule for digital-release-only bands no longer applies. If you think it's a reasonably professional metal release, submit it!
