I had my submission for the thrash band Bleed the Victim rejected for a lack of evidence of release. It was so long ago I started the draft I can't remember what I had in the submission (I accidentally submitted it without making sure I had all of the relevant links), but anyway, here's an announcement from their FB page saying they released an EP in April:
https://www.facebook.com/BleedTheVictim ... 2754215402

https://www.facebook.com/BleedTheVictim ... 5878421423

And here's a link to their Reverb for metalness if that's needed as well:

http://www.reverbnation.com/bleedthevictim

Sorry for missing that, I didn't mean to!

One Too Many Camel was rejected on the basis that it was not metal.

This is a mistake. The band's music (available for streaming via bandcamp at https://onetoomanycamel.bandcamp.com ) is progressive metal with elements of post-hardcore, in a very similar vein to The Ocean http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/The_Ocean/25189 and Textures http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Textures/13896 .

Reference this song for evidence of 'metalness' https://onetoomanycamel.bandcamp.com/track/beyond-the-wall

And this song for evidence of stone/sludge-metal elements https://onetoomanycamel.bandcamp.com/track/feet-of-clay-intro

Thanks

Sorry, I just had to sig this. :D About the band, I remember it was more prog/post-hardcore than actual metal. I'll re-listen later.

It seems there's also a metalcore band from the US with that name. I've temporarily removed it from the blacklist.

Ah, I don't think this was rejected before? We don't do "pre-checks". If you think the band qualifies, submit them. If you're unsure, probably best not to.

It's a CD-R release, I believe. I can't say for sure how many copies are made, but I can definitely tell you it's not a small limited release, they've had a lot available at every show they've played since they released.

Apparently it's a cover band? We require bands to have at least some original material.

They do have one original track (the first track on the album) which is a neat slice of Europower: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5I-2MMvrW8

Hello, I know this was discussed before. But the latest album of ACIDEZ (Mexico) is way more speed/thrash metal than hardcore/punk. The whole new album sounds like Children of Technology, Inepsy, Toxic Holocaust, Malignant Tumour, Speedwolf, etc.

Relistened and still not convinced, seems more like sludgy/atmospheric post-hardcore? Fellow mods, to the rescue!

Hm, was it discussed before? Not to my knowledge. Those samples sound metal enough, but I'm going to check the entire album and report back.

The band Zvijer from Bosnia was rejected although they have physical release. Yes it's promo but it's not only for fanzines or labels. Everyone can order their tape on [email protected] (postal services only). All individuals in this band are well-known on the Balkan underground scene. The tape itself has the same program on both sides.

You talk about rules and principles, but there are a bunch of bands with promo CD's or tapes on this site however. Promo doesn't mean that its available only for magazines, fanzines and labels. I have few promo tapes and CD's in my collection.

No one distributes the tape for now, only way is through [email protected].

Alright, but do you know if there's a certain limited amount of copies? Or are they made on demand?

Actually it can mean that, other than basically being a synonym for "demo". We don't allow the zine/label/radio-only variety because we define releases as publicly available. If you know of any non-public promo releases, please report them for deletion. Same for bands with nothing else released.

Its made on demand... For example, if you order a tape it will stay "promo tape only for azmodes".

However man, if this is not enough I will wait for some official distribution of the tape..

Telling from the samples online, a good part of the full-length was already metal, this seems okay now. Can be submitted.

Hi,

My band RipOff was rejected due to an absence of any release materials. I already provided a link from amazon that we do in fact have a digital release. So please check into this, and I hope the issue is sorted. I am providing the link here again.

Thanks

It's too short of a release to be accepted as digital-only. Needs to be twenty minutes at least.

How is it harsh? It's the rules. It is no harsher than writing longer songs.

Dude, a digital-only single isn't a valid release. How much of the rejection message did you bother reading? I'll extract the relevant bit:
(The rejection message) wrote:
Digital and available for full download: must also be a finished/final mix (no garage rehearsals or rough mixes), AND long enough (preferably over 20 minutes)

That single is six minutes long... please resubmit once the band has something more substantial released.

Hello, I am here to appeal to the band Ozama being rejected. I have added a link to where you can listen to parts of the release. I have only uploaded it to the internet for the purpose that the moderators could verify the type of music. I would rather these songs remain in the underground and not on YouTube. I am Mugreh, the creator of Ozama and I have recently acquired the necessary equipment to produce CD and Cassette Tape format releases. The label is named Morboso Metal Grotesco and I have a full studio that is open to any black metal bands that need to record their material. I would be glad to send you a copy of Fortaleza De Sangre by Ozama so that you can verify furthermore the proof of this album. It is available as of June and I have already sent out copies to fellow metal-heads and band members. I am currently working on four newer releases, one of my own and a few other bands. The contact for the releases is [email protected] and the website for distribution is almost ready.
Thank you for your time,
Mugreh

The sludge metal/metalcore band Xibalba (United States) is blacklisted for whatever reason. They shouldn't be.
