Lunaria
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Lunaria/more

Imho this band breaks the rules. Let's suppose they have this Cold Stone Gravity album out, how can we know it is metal? This breaks first and second rule since any information about this album (or band) is nowhere to be found. If in those fifteen years since the band submission no one found anything about this band i think there is no point to keep it on the site.

You're gonna stumble upon many bands listed here that have nothing showing up in their discography tabs, but having some information listed about releases on the notes.

The fact they show up like that is simple: at the time of submission, there wasn't enough information on the release available to have their album properly listed in the discography tab upon submission. It could have been that the tracklist wasn't available, or that the submission listed one song and a review from a zine, or something like that. Since the rules state that a band must be a Metal band and have a Metal release out and available, the the time of submission, the proof for both requisites in question did check out and the band was accepted. That's why it's here. There's no rule-breaking.

The fact that no one has found anything might be that no one has cared to investigate, or that the investigations have had no fruition. Could be a lot of things.

And yes, as a Metal Encyclopaedia, our aim it to record all the Metal bands in existence son there IS a point in keeping it. Unless of course you can prove the release is fake or the band isn't Metal.

Spent the last half hour updating this:

Well, wasted half hour I should say. :ugh: No chance this'll stay. AC/DC worship.

Star Gazer was approved by me in 2014 and although I'm not sure, it could be that I simply hadn't been aware of the post-7'' material (there was only mention of the single in the submission notes and that the band "got more melodic later on"). Most of the discography was added after they were approved. Witcher's duplicate (and Antioch and Paganius being observant) made me check out their full-lengths and none of them are predominantly metal, sadly.

I have re-added this one after finding the album Commercial Gods. It's surprisingly metal. Unfortunately the original entry is no longer restorable, but I have all the relevant data saved.

So , was there any response from their former drummer? Or are there any other updates on Palvonta and their dubious release?

Shiptarian Darkness
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Sh ... 3540426934

This project was made by a guy from the south of Serbia and it was parody about albanian people, nationalism and albania as a country. Soon the rest of the world , including albanians misunderstood this whole concept (that was the whole idea). The concept was mockery, not glorification.
It is a troll project that never released anything official, except videos on YouTube, no digital distribution via bandcamp or similar.
And that track Live in Durres, hahahahah ..if someone give me some evidence about that "show" I will eat my own shit.

Deleted Baalzephon from Turkey - all material seems to have been plagiarized from multiple artists, including at least Svabhavat from the US.

Thanks. Now, what will be the further approach of the Palvonta case from the moderators' side?

I did a bit more research (thanks for reminding me about the band) and found an archived version of their entry at FirestreamMusicVault:
https://web.archive.org/web/20101011071 ... at_id=4507
added in August 2009.

There's a comment of the original submitter:
Quote:
Ask for things and you should receive! LOL The Guitar Player for this band recently contacted me and gave me the missing info as well as the sound files for them that he had. I remember them as well as a few other really good rare bands as I was a Writer for a Christian Extreme Metal Magazine called "The Narrow Path" back in the mid 90's and I remember being sent this for review, over the years it, Ritual, and External Decease came up missing. Boo Hoo. I'll be lucky to get those back. This kind of stuff was rare back then and rare stuff of today does not compare at all to the rarity of the stuff of days gone by.

proving that it exists.
Band stays.

I've come across this through the random search function, and I remembered having seen the debut on CD while rummaging through someone's collection a couple of years back. I stopped and picked up the CD as I didn't know what it was, and asked him what genre the band played, and he said nu-metal. I put it down and moved on to other stuff. I didn't expect the band to be on the archives, and until yesterday, I'd forgotten all about it.

Anyway, while I realise (as I type) that my post bears no weight, I'm putting this out there for those who have the CD or have heard the songs first-hand. I can't find anything myself.

Digging this one up, because I found the 1998 demo. Groove thrash is accurate.

@Witcher: I'll take a look at Crashdiet soon.

Zero proof of any physical releases, most likely only a few mp3's spread online.
Found some mentions of a CD being released limited to 666 copies, but this is obviously not true.

I had one .mp3 files stashed on an old hard drive somewhere: https://instaud.io/3vvw
Clearly a joke band, sounds like unintentional Noisecore.

Edit: the logo (clearly made in paint) and the photo don't help one bit. The project was mentioned in the "Encyclopedia of Dutch Black Metal", but that thing is full of similar joke projects.

Looking at who added them certainly rings the alarm bells, but nevertheless I find it hard to believe that EC would just have randomly added a YT-only band. One of the demos is even marked as a CD. Anyway, I'll try and find out more about this, the post is not being ignored.

Death Squad 88 deleted. At least 3 mods think it's too rough/makeshift and the fact that the band deleted their youtube chanel and bandcamp page as soon as it got added to MA makes this highly suspicious.

The "Bockenreyders" demo 2007 was never released and was actually left unfinished.
The remainder of what was recorded was eventually released on this compilation tape:
https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Q ... uys/756051 (track 14, 15 and 16) (see add. notes)

Should the Corozain entry be kept? Potentially with a note pointing towards this compilation cassette?

Why was the Dutch band fortress accepted? Here is their whole demo and the only song on it, which could be considered heavy metal, is imo the opening song Battle For Your Life.
the rest of the demo is just bluesy hard rock, not really metal, and even that first song has hearable blues/googie leanings:
https://soundcloud.com/hans-van-vuuren/ ... bit-b-demo

The demo is recently available on Ebay labelled as "christian rock",which I think is a fitting style description: https://www.ebay.com/itm/FORTRESS-EXHIB ... SwcHRcY4dn

Looking at the moderator notes and the modification history, me and two other mods agreed that it was acceptable musically, albeit a bit borderline.

Panic from Costa Rica has been submitted to the queue yesterday, and accepted later on. I added them to the submission queue on the 18th of March, and it is still in the queue. Yes, I put it as the band from United States, as that was the information I could find on the net, but it is the same band, actually. The approved band has more information though. Please fix this.

I'm considering just changing the compilation to a split and linking it to the Corozain page this way, but this would be a bit clunky, not to mention misleading, I guess... Pretty sure there's a couple precedents for this, though.

And also Crazy Band (Russia). Hard rock with a bit of stoner rock.

https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Sulmog/123338
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Zwarte_Plaag/39286

The demos for both projects were only released online and spread through peer-to-peer networks like Soulseek.
These entries would nowadays be rejected based on the fact that they are fairly short and their "apparent level of dedication, professionalism and distribution effort".
(based on what's written here: https://www.metal-archives.com/news/view/id/258)
Both are very crude recordings most likely done on either an old style mp3 player with a built-in microphone or early/mid 2000's mobile telephone and are basically inaudible.

Tricky one!
I reckon that would also mean changing this release to a split, since it contains tracks of a pre-Woudgilde project? https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/W ... lde/756428

Mortbrand is gone. Crashdiet about to follow (more rock than metal).

I'll report back about those remaining bands soon, Klaagzang.

Removed Демарш (Demarsh) from Russia. Hard rock with some metal moments on the debut and 2018 albums.

UPD. Abdication (Russia) - ambient/acoustic + tremolo and no real riffs. Nuked.

It was already brought up by the submitter here, but logging it here to remove any further confusion. On April 8th, I removed Surgical Orb (USA) shortly after it was accepted by another mod, as there was a report that the songs on the sole release were actually Iniquity songs. The band is now blacklisted as a result.

This band should be removed from the Metal Archives for having no proper riffs... All it is... is endless note-less slams and pig-grunting. Have a listen to hear what I mean.
