Deleted Remy. Turns out that's actually the name of their only EP and the ostensible release title "First Aid" is in fact the band name (which already has a page).

Shouldn't People of the Monolith be deleted?

http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Peo ... _Monolith/

Their EP is only a re-release of the EP released as This Weary Hour and I did not find anything about another release
Please check it

How come Gut has been added (as G.U.T.) after it's been rejected a million times for not being metal?

Yes, this is very hilarious or it is a joke! Anyway, if Gut (not G.U.T.) are going to be permanently on the archive, also Last Days of Humanity should be! They are 100 time more "metal" than Gut!

Accepting Gut would kind of necessitate a revamping of standards regarding acceptable grind.

I believe this is most likely an oversight on the part of the mod who accepted it, not a change in policy towards the band (and others like it.)

It was an oversight of a mod but we are discussing if the band should or shouldn't be here.

The user who submitted Gut dodged the blacklist by adding them as G.U.T. (that loop hole has been filled now) and I wasn't aware of their "history" here or in general (although I should have suspected). Hadn't even heard of the band until then. Not being that much of a grind person I erred on the side of boldness. So yeah, an oversight on my part. They've been deleted again.

Not sure how kosher it is to bring up reports on this thread, but I figure I'd post this here:

the band splitted and Maelzel created a POP band called "Paranoid doll", and alfredo Made a band Called "Ainur":

To be honest, We never recorded anything as "Dreamland". We have no physical proof of this Demo. I guess Edgar (Maelzel) forgot to remove this from the database.

I hope that you will accept my apologies.

For a moment there I thought you meant the Moonspell side-project, but they're spelled differently.

Nah, some Canadian death/thrash band added back in 2004. Turns out their demo was really just one single mp3 and nothing more.

I know it's been covered before, it doesn't merit its own thread, etc., so I did a search (maybe not thoroughly enough) to find out the album that got Motley Crue in the Archives and the only thread I found about this said "Shout at the Devil".

I listened to this album, I did find some metal songs: "Looks That Kill", "Bastard", "Red Hot" and perhaps "Danger", but I have trouble calculating how 4 songs out of 11 makes 51%. The other songs sound like typical hard rock by Guns 'n Roses, Queen, Quiet Riot, etc.

I've heard perhaps twenty or more songs and have only found a few songs (besides the above mentioned maybe "Black Widow" could also be metal).

Now, I am not saying they are not metal, but could someone please tell me which album(s) is the one that got them accepted?

Good morning/afternoon/evening. I'm new in the site, though I've been using it as my trusty metal source about 3 years now.
Well going straight to the point: Why is Dar Sangre on the archives? I think that mods missed it or didn't listen to the band http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GabyxeGu_4Q I've listened to them and they sound like an argentinian Bullets For My Valentine from the more 'hardcore' oriented sound to the 'love, relationships' lyrics. Maybe I'm wrong and one of you can enlighten me? I just want to help to keep the archives clear of non-metal bands.

Shout at the Devil basically sounds like cheesier 80's Priest. It's a metal album for sure.

Deleted Damnum Animus. As iamntbatman put it:
Quote:
this band isn't really metal at all. It has the aesthetics of black metal, I guess, but there are no guitars present on the release and no other instrument that really approximates metal riffs. Sounds a bit like modern Summoning minus the guitars.

I disagree, based on their debut full-lenght. Plenty of death metal the old school primitive way in this.

Really? Can you point out some moments of death metal? I came across this band recently and am really enjoying them, but I was surprised as hell to see them on the archives. I honestly feel that if this qualifies as "death metal in the old school primitive way", then a LOT of crust bands should be here that aren't, including really major bands like Doom, who have at least as much death metal in their sound as these guys do...

cf: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfvzJmyRNow (Nuclear Death Terror from first LP) vs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaOShthcu_Q (Doom from Rush Hour of the Gods; the riff around 1:20 sounds at least as "old school death metal" as anything on NDT's album)

There are already a lot of crust bands in MA - those that holds an acceptable equal balance between metal and crust. The same with NDT. Not just elements here and there , but the total balance has been deemed acceptable by whoever accepted them and I agree. If you want to add more crust bands, then go ahead - they'll be treated like every other submission as case by case study looking for acceptable level of metal. About Doom, I don't know their discography to say why they were left out, but they have been blacklisted long time ago.

Indeed. And it was accepted back in 2002. The other releases from that 'label' look suspicious too.

It seems that the band did not release a "physical" album. On their facebook and reverbnation pages, the album is only available as MP3.

Woke up in a haze needing some food and checked the new additions, noticed something odd. We currently have 2 band pages for the same NWOBHM band, Traitors Gate. The new entry has 3 releases listed, the old entry has one. Also, the new entry has an apostrophe in it - the old entry already has this as an alternate name. New entry is missing location details.

Not to be not-confused with:
Traitors Gate (Same band from Rhondda, Wales)

... in the additional notes before it gets deleted? :D

Yeah? Nah? Okay then.
