Use the report function for stuff like this. In this case, the mention might be more apt for the respective artists' trivia sections, but it's not a big deal. Still worth a mention in any case.

Very strange bug:
I tried to send a message to a user, and started the message with "Hi <username>,". For whatever reason, the intended username was replaced with "Napero." Seriously, what the hell?

Haha very funny, I've noticed that it's like that on the forums as well. Tired of people mentioning him I suppose? I actually didn't send him an angry butt-hurt message, I wanted to pick his brain about a particular album. I enjoy reading his reviews.

I believe it starts with 'b' and ends in 'itterman'.

Well, I thought it might've been, but assumed not because 1) he doesn't browse the forums so I didn't think anybody would think to PM him since they could hardly expect a response; and 2) I couldn't find any examples of the wordfilter kicking in in the search results (so it was apparently only done today). I guess that would make the most sense, though.

@ clanny: I'm like 99% sure it is him though because of this thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=106205

Yup just confirmed it, when that thread was first posted it said bitterman, then yesterday it said Napero, now today it's back. Funny little joke, the mods should've just left it there like the other one(s), I only know of the one off hand.

Don't know if I am the only one but I can't look at page 22 of the oldschool death metal gems thread.

Google Chrome just redirects me to a warning message saying the site is infected with malware.
Quote:

Google Chrome has blocked access to this page on http://www.metal-archives.com.
Content from united-metal.ru, a known malware distributor, has been inserted into this web page. Visiting this page now is very likely to infect your computer with malware.

Haven't seen a problem anywhere else though.

I also used Chrome and could only browse it after telling it to "proceed at your own risk". Found the cause though, it's the cover pic of the Mercyless album:

http://united-metal.ru/uploads/posts/20 ... -metal.jpg

Google must have tagged united-metal.ru as a malware site in its piracy crusade, so it gives out that error when browsing the page because of the image being splashed in one of the posts.

Yeah, that's not a problem on the forum's end.

Update
A (minor) change to the forum software. The "quick search" you find at the top right of each forum and each topic now will ONLY search the forum or topic that you're currently located in. Previously it would search the whole board. If you want to search the whole board the "Search" link at the very top of this page will still continue to do that for you.

It also allows you to search within the results that you are given, too.

You may have also noticed a minor bug. When you click a category (eg. Marketplace) it wont show any of its forums. I am currently in the process of fixing that.

Hey guys, I'm still having this annoying problem :/.

I still get this all of time. It makes searching for anything a pain in the ass. I don't even need to hit the back button for it to happen; if I try to search for something within a few seconds of another search query, it gets angry at me.

I changed a setting and we'll see if that helps.

Normally that's not a bug, but a feature. The search has a default "anti-flood" feature where users must wait a few seconds before using it again, otherwise you get that message. I've opted to try something that isn't as disruptive, so you shouldn't have that problem again. That said, if it does pop-up, please let me know.

I've had the following problem for a while now: I keep getting logged out randomly. It's not a big deal when I'm just browsing the forum, but I frequently find myself being logged out while trying to make a post. I'll type out my post, hit submit, and then get taken to the login page. This means I have go back a page, copy my post, login and then resubmit. Again, not a huge deal but quite frustrating.

More frustrating is that sometimes when I go back a page, the post I typed out is no longer there to be copied because it displays the page as if I wasn't logged in, so the message box has disappeared.

This could easily be a problem on my end rather than the forum, just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what I could do to fix it.

Thanks.

Oh, and it just happened again while submitting this post. Thankfully it let me copy it this time.

Yeah, I was having the exact same problem just recently but it was getting astronomically obnoxious to deal with (I'm on Google Chrome). I tried clearing my cache, deleting cookies, all sorts of stuff to no avail. I have a browser plugin called Hola that's basically a proxy service that lets me use Netflix and Steam here in Korea, and the other day I tried using that for the forum and setting it to view the forum from the US and I haven't been logged out since. Maybe give that a whirl if it keeps giving you issues?

I'm now getting the abovementioned issue as well. Intend to try the work-around/fix mentioned in iamntbatman's post if the issue doesn't spontaneously resolve itself in the upcoming day or two.

Just posting here with the purpose of recording that this bug/glitch/issue appears to still be floating around.

Just a bit curious what that "Moderator" thing is. It only shows up when I'm on the Suggests & Complaints board, or the Tasks sub-forum, but I've never noticed it until now.

I just made a post on the paris thread, and it went on top of page 3, instead of at the bottom (as in newest)...

EDIT: even >THIS< post did not get allocated as "newest".

2nd EDIT: ...but I show up as the last poster in the tavern overview. this is my first time time-travelling and I'm so excited! :D

Yeah I'm having this problem too. The posts are appearing in the wrong order and the tines are way off. Before I
logged in they were about 5-6 hours off and now that I'm signed in they seem to be about 2 hours off.

Edit: hahaha I just posted this and I bumped in above Spiner. Weird. With a 3 hour difference in post time...

Good luck to HB and Morrigan. May the force be with you.

Seconding that problem.

Edit: wait, nope, couldn't even tell how many have complained already.

Basically my post are travelling back in time. Pls mods send me back to the future!!

Not fixed for me.

Edit: maybe it's because the time signatures of the recently posted posts are still wrong? (for me the ostensibly newest posts are still 3 hours in the future)

the main site clock is also high... the updates on the main page are stuck to a coupla hours back. the more recent ones I made show on my profile, and in the order I made them, but with an "older" time stamp.

I think the forum clock is messed up. It seems to be 6 hours ahead of my time. I double-checked and confirmed that the time zone on my profile (EST) is correct. I'm wondering if this is related to the maintenance that happened earlier today?

I can provide pics if needed, but I didn't know if this issue had been brought up yet.

Edit: 5 hours, not 6.

Edit 2: Seems to be fixed now! Maybe it was just a bug on my end.

Edit 3: I missed all of the messages above. Thanks for fixing it

So this thing still shows up for me in this forum and the Tasks sub-forum. I just find it odd, as I'm not a moderator.

Hi, I've a general question and wasn't sure where exactly to post this, maybe this has been asked before

http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Oc ... ltz/562127

this is just an example, as you see there is an extra entry for the gold vinyl version which I actually mentioned in the 12" vinyl entry in "additional notes" section. Is it allowed to add all possible colors or is it enough if all colors are listed under one entry? I sometimes see people adding all possible colors (each as a new entry) although most of them are released at the same time (e.g. many NB titles), except for represses of course, which have obviously a different date.

If the only thing differing is the colour, a single entry is enough.
