I wanted to help with some of the reports listed in the site http://www.metal-archives.com/report/list

However, I noticed that most people are not bothering in telling the source of their reports. I always want to check out if what they are reporting is true, and it would be way easier if they could tell me "how they got that information".

My question is, What could you do to make the reporters mark their source instead of just telling us what has to be fixed? Couldnt you mark in the report form that we would appreciate if they could give us some online proof? or at least to tell us how they got the info?

That has always been part of the special 'charm' of the report queue. I believe the report form in V1 asked for sources, but the new one apparently doesn't. I suggest it is put in the feedback thread, but don't expect too much. The majority of the reports probably won't cite sources anyway.

I've added a message about citing sources. As Corimngul said, however, most don't. Feel free to dismiss what you think are totally full-of-shit/frivolous reports if you don't want to be bothered validating the information.

a fairly agreed upon date [of the beginning of metal] is 1969. Metal is almost 25 years old
