The strangest thing about it is, why writing such a, erm, review, for Dethklok now? To me the show, and the band behind, were typically things from the 2000s which died with them. Just checked their page on the main site out of curiosity, and except a 2017 review from hells_unicorn the most recent ones are from... 2014. Almost ten years.

I mean, I love Metalocalypse and Dethklok, but even I can agree that they're a product for their time, though I'm kind of crossing my fingers for a nostalgia boom of the show.

Both peculiar reasons for a criticism, considering the song itself is two minutes long...

Disregarding The Satire of The Art - 65%
Kratopsis, May 19th, 2023

Disregarding The Satire of The Art and lyrics this album overall is a rather okay listen, it definitely holds up as a one man black metal project. This album has really basic, yet good instrumentation, and this has a very relaxing atmospheric feel to it and that makes this album more unique but lyrical content I can't relate to but that is just a minor complaint.

The albums instrumentation is a basic, yet nice composition it has a relaxing tone to it. People give this to much crap for this being ''Reddit user black metal'' I find that rather ignorant because yes a black metal project about anime and um well fetishism
which is ridiculous indeed but that is not what they should focus on, but I digress back to talking about the instrumentation it has a basic simple black metal sound which something some people just want to jam because that's what it meant for.

Now lyrically this has no mean than to me that this a joke album, and which I find lyrics very important to describe a important event per-say but all this tells me maybe the artist needs to have a better relation with his parents ,but disregarding me dumping on the lyrics just for being degenerative is just a joke on me, but on lyrics I don't care for i will admit that they do add a nice disturbing tone to the album, well if you didn't understand them it would.

This album overall is a great listen to if you disregard the themes of it, and to be honest it is rather hilarious to read the lyrics. I high recommend this album for mainly friends who like anime and some heavy metal to get them more into it.

That's... kinda painful to read.

Also, a timeless comedy classic:

Somewhat of a weird album choice, to say the least.

As far as I've seen, a rejection with a warning is enough to deter them. But if the offense persists, then by all means the user is bannable, I guess.

Yea. Once is a 'haha okay, write an actual review', two times is 'alright stop this' and a third time I'd definitely flag the user for a warning or ban or something. I've never had someone send shit in a second time though.

Speaking of shit...

The first reviewer must've confused MA reviews for Youtube comments, and the second one felt like it came from the 2000s era of MA reviews.

Yeah something that's become abundantly clear is that whatever you want to say about MA's current standards for reviews, my god they've come a long way from the earlier days of the site. Granted, that review seems like it would only have flown in the 2002 to 2005 era but still.

Easy contender for the longest sentences ever written... or for the fewest periods in a review (for Goatmoon - Finnish Steel Storm):

I think now would be a good idea to introduce a rule banning AI-written reviews. I mean, 99.9% chance of it being AI? That's insane!

I don't know enough about IT to know if something like this could be even possible, but yeah, being this already the second instance it happened, it's kind of a red flag for the future. Luckily in both cases the 'writing' (term used very loosely) style was robotic enough to have some doubts about their authenticity (the other user was even more blatant, and the first version of this review calling said '95 album 'their latest' wasn't really encouraging), but I'm afraid that, in the future, discerning the true from the false might become tougher.

This website was a good catch, indeed. As far as I've understood, that percentage means that the user didn't even bother to rephrase something to make the whole thing look less obvious – they just submitted the whole thing without double-checking anything. They also sent another one for Napalm Death's Scum which was even worse and inspired me to look around for a tool that could confirm my suspects.

For the time being, I took advantage of the occasion and thought it was time to finally have a rejection message dedicated to the issue

Good to know there's a new reason added for rejecting a review based on the AI issue, though I am curious to see that rejected Scum review.

I actually tried that tool he used. I put in a recent review of my own, and then a review from the queue with a... questionable grasp of English. Both times, it said it was written by humans. Interesting.

For the sake of the thread, I should have saved it, yeah lol. It was kind of halfway between the here posted one and the one you made on ChatGPT out of curiosity last time. Very basic, short sentences that didn't really say anything once you stopped to think about it. Also pretty much all of the same length, and arranged in short paragraphs that all started with the name of the album mentioned in the very first words. I wasn't 100% sure about the ENT one, but that one was way too... mechanical to be legitimate.

Yeah tried the same and it's worked great so far, I'm intrigued. Probably AI engines tend to use some sort of easily recognizable patterns that might be detected as recurrent, over time. Not that hard to believe, after having seen what the previous AI user submitted last time :durr:

Yep, AI anything tends to draw from a distinct set of sources to generate the material they do. When it comes to images it's harder to spot I can imagine, but even so a problem emerging in the world of AI art is that the AI is now drawing from other AI artwork and producing lower quality results. Certainly, with text it's probably easier to notice as it is I guess a 'simpler' medium in terms of how much you can do with it.
