Considering that simply posting reviews that are deemed lacking in quality and/ or length might not get them removed from the Archives or replaced by something better, why not collect those reviews in one single place that need to be brought to current standards.

I have to calls to make:
https://www.metal-archives.com/users/kd

https://www.metal-archives.com/users/JakeDevil

Both have rather short reviews ...

I am working on this album soon:

Or maybe we collect stuff and use it for a different type of review challenge? "A cleaning up the reviews" challenge?

This is something I've done already at least once or twice. For sure, one of them was Secrets of the Moon's Carved in Stigmata Wounds which had a really bad track by track review that I nominated for deletion. Soon afterward, I published my own review for that album. I'm all for doing more of this sort of thing.

Maybe that could help benefit the review challenges where albums that only have one or two sub-par reviews can get them replaced with better quality ones and count toward some of the writers' totals. I know the challenge is for virgin albums, but if you're barely getting your hands dirty with a review, have you really unwrapped the cookie?

I'm not sure how other writers operate during the challenge, but I usually make a list of albums to review at least a month in advance of the challenge. Then I listen to those albums like crazy for the time leading into the challenge and will have the respective album on while writing. I imagine there are a few people who just blindly start trying to review an album for the challenge, but, erm, it would be hard to see the big picture that way.
