Yay, I reached my goal of 10 VRs am now aiming for a baker's dozen (including a Bucket(head)view) by Sunday...jolly good show to the bigwigs rocking the 20 + already...I know myself though, if I get too hungry, I flounder and start getting lost in my own words!

So here's a wingding challenge for y'all:

Who's up for writing a pangram/ holoalphabetic review??

It's a real gas, I tell ya (but be careful, once you start with the 'ol pangrammin', it's easy to get carried away and get stuck in a vicious pangram loop!

Don't do this to me, you know I'll want to if you suggest it! Although, if I say I'll do it in one review, will you read them all until you find it?

Guys, keep putting out the great reviews, the weekend's coming!

Haven't contributed thus far because this challenge was plopped right in the middle of dead week for me, but now I have a period of five days where I basically sit on my ass and wait for the next exams, so I'll try to contribute a little over the next few days to fulfill my obligation to METAL. \MMMMM///////

Well, could you at least lodge a clue in the title of the review?
I've been duly checking out a number of your (SAGacious) write-ups but you write 'em faster than I can glean 'em!

I enjoyed the Against The Plagues review you just put up. That one was actually on my short-list of albums to try and hit this weekend. I'm on the fence regarding whether or not I'll do it as it has already been tapped, though I've heard their entire discography so I may be able to provide a different perspective on how their sound evolved between Decoding The Mainframe and their latest. We shall see.

I can't believe Cat III (cool username by the way) dropped a review for that Yellow Machinegun album early today. I've listening to that thing quite a few times this week to review...and BAM, I see it there. What are the chances?
My opinion wouldn't have been that much different. Shit, Night Viper and then this...gotta find something else I guess.

P sure you can double-review something and have it count so long as it was unreviewed at the beginning of the week.

EDIT: Yeah, check rule 3

Hmm yeah thanks, I should pay more attention.
I might just stick to pure ones though since a couple of other virgins are looking for attention. Depends on how much time I have

Now it looks like kluseba managed to nab the latest Elvenking out from under me, I may still end up hitting it as I have a somewhat different take on it than him (I think it's the best thing they've done since Wyrd), but there's plenty of other stuff still in my arsenal that I'll probably hit first.

@anybody: Consider covering this album if you're bored! A friend of mine made it: https://flowerstothewelshmanatdusk.band ... etal-songs

Thanks! You should definitely cover it if you get time, I'd be interested in hearing somebody else's perspective.

Double duly dug TheStormIRide's Behind Enemy Lines & Hexenizor reviews; dig this lasts' oh-so-ribald and chthonic cover art!

And thanks to gasmask_colostomy for The Skull review...I take it it's a must for any self-respecting Trouble/doomite?

May have to eschew reviews today (sniffling emoji) as I need to catch up on "homework" (not the fun kind) I've been relegating to the backburner all week and is "due" tomorrow...although I've one more at least up my sleeve for tomorrow for sure...it'll be a doozy!

Props to all participants!

Yeah, good Behind Enemy Lines review. An underrated band for sure. Also, it's good to see Rapethedead and MutantClannfear participating in some capacity.

I honestly have no excuse. I try and save up a bit of energy for these challenges but it was Friday and I realized it had already started. Hoping to get a couple more in before the weekend's up but I have no idea where to start and most of the things I've been listening to lately already have reviews :(

Thanks Chairs and Clam. Behind Enemy Lines has been on my backburner for quite sometime, but I finally got the motivation I needed this summer when they played Skullfest. I figured challenge time was the perfect time to finally get it done.

That Hexenizer album completely caught me off guard. I was expecting pure Moto-rocking/Venometal but instead got some shreddy speed/thrash. Production was rough, but I'll certainly be watching for anything else they put out.

Haha, sorry dude. I plan on reviewing their entire discography (the full-lengths at least), though I'll finish off the virgins first. I was going to mention Spot Remover in the underrated thrash albums thread when I saw you had already mentioned it.

Hey, thanks! I didn't know if other people would actually care to read it, but I'm glad at least one person found it interesting. Thanks for your Wędrujący Wiatr review, and hopefully you were satisfied with the two reviews I did for Secret Satan. :D

Wow, that was an exhausting week that produced some great reviews! I love how there are three reviewers frantically submitting all the way up to midnight (midday for me, but whatever), so thanks to hells_unicorn and dystopia4 for giving that extra push that was needed to make me try my best too. Well done guys.

No problem man, you and dystopia4 have me beat on total numbers, I ended up having a whole bunch of unexpected things come up at work (one of the benefits of being self-employed) and had a very limited amount of time each day to actually write, not to mention I'm getting over a nasty cold. The last final push at the end was me trying to get myself reasonably close to what I got last time, which I still fell short of by about 15 reviews, though in my defense more than half of what I reviewed last challenge were EPs. lol

Next time around I'll be better prepped and will take a stab at breaking my old record of 93. Great job everyone!

Yeah that race at the end was pretty cool, don't recall that happening before in a challenge I've participated in. Good job to the other dudes who participated, some pretty sweet reviews this time around. MutantClannfear's Sloth review is my favourite from this challenge and honestly one of the all time greatest reviews on the archives.

Anyone else feel kind of burnt out on metal at this point? Think I'll go explore other genres for a few weeks, haha.

As I believe I said after the summer challenge, "Time to go and listen to Amy Winehouse."

I don't want to put anything in my ears for a month at least.

That's how I felt after the last challenge, though given I ended up not having much time free this time around, I'll be cutting my extreme metal listening for a few days and listening to my collection of Keldian albums, they're kind of the lightest thing you can listen to on the power metal spectrum without it turning into pop rock.

Wow, that was a serious run of reviewing legerdemain...haha! I was sick of using the word "magic" and felt like a refresher was needed,

You maniacs killed it! I can't even begin imagining to what your extent your ears must be ringing!

Metal or Death! (to quote Terrifier)...

I'll have to check out that review for the batty Sloth...again, a tip of my scrunched hat to 3 particular grindstoners...

I just read that Sloth review, I needed to stop and laugh three times. Brilliant stuff.

I've managed to pen down 15, and I have notes written down for 2 more albums, but I just couldn't manage more with work and travelling to my folks' place over the weekend. I did more than last year, though, and I did at least one every day, so at least I'm improving.

Nowhere near my best, but I still beat my one review a day goal. The youngest got the stomach flu and the eldest ended up with a 102.6F fever during the week, but I still made it well into double digits.

Cheers to everyone for the hard work! And thanks to Chairs for a great Secret Satan this go around.

TOTAL VIRGINS: 353
On average, 90% of all reviews from the week were virgins! This was higher than last challenge!

Compared to previous challenges, we surpassed June 2016 by 6 reviews, but sadly were 133 reviews below December 2016, and 130 reviews below June 2017.

In spite of this, we had more participants this December than we did last December, at 62.

I should've paid closer attention: I forgot to account for time zones and my last review was submitted an hour or two after the deadline. Oh well. Two is still, and this is no exaggeration, over 300,000,000,000,000 times as many as I submitted for all previous challenges combined.

Anyone else feel kind of burnt out on metal at this point? Think I'll go explore other genres for a few weeks, haha.

As I believe I said after the summer challenge, "Time to go and listen to Amy Winehouse."

That's always a good idea. Back to Black is one the greatest albums released since the millennium (Frank is no slouch, either).

Haha, sorry dude. I plan on reviewing their entire discography (the full-lengths at least), though I'll finish off the virgins first. I was going to mention Spot Remover in the underrated thrash albums thread when I saw you had already mentioned it.

Looking forward to your Yellow Machinegun reviews...I got screwed on Sunday; apparently my wife's PhD studies were more important than busting out some reviews (including Father's Golden Fish). I'll get around to them eventually.

this is my 3rd or 4th time participating and my first finally managing to participate every day!! stoked to finally make that goal. I managed to submit 9 reviews last winter but one of them missed the nightly deadline. On that note, RIP to the guy whose Cruciamentum review was 7 minutes too late.

Props to the mods for reading all this shit!! take a freakin break

I think Mutantclannfear's Sloth review might one of my all time favorite reviews. Joking or not that was really interesting to read.

Hey, thanks! I didn't know if other people would actually care to read it, but I'm glad at least one person found it interesting. Thanks for your Wędrujący Wiatr review, and hopefully you were satisfied with the two reviews I did for Secret Satan. :D

I definitely went into it thinking Sloth was pretty low hanging fruit but you turned it around real quick.

Thanks for the two SS reviews too. Not gonna lie I was kinda disappointed by your opinion of Ephemerality but oh well it was a great review nonetheless.

Re: the challenge in general, this was the first time I participated but it was definitely fun to keep track of things and read the reviews as they were published. I'm looking forward to the next one and hopefully I can write more reviews next time.

I ended up counting the Curciamentum review. He submitted it on time, we just didn't get to it until after midnight. It's our fault, not his, so I made an exception here.

Well done to dystopia4 for finishing top this time around. He always seems to have a couple more reviews than me on any given challenge, plus I really liked the one for Hell's eponymous album. Next time it'll be even closer, I promise.

Ha, I'm sure next time you'll have me beat. Two 50+ challenges is more than enough for me.

Glad you liked the Hell review, I thought it was one of my better ones this time.
