How do you mods even go through all those shitty "reviews" every day? I can only read the shorter ones on here, and even then I struggle to read the whole damn thing. Props to you guys. You have to say, that Napalm Death rant was pure gold. And I'm not sure what he means when he said that good albums get bad reviews and bad albums get good reviews; yeah, totally spot on with that one mate!

Actually, I refuse to moderate any more Book of Souls reviews, it is really getting that bad.

Here is a screenshot of the queue. I promise you that nearly all of those are garbage submissions. People don't even let the record sink in, they just rush trying to be the first listed review for the album. Really strange behavior; can't say I understand the lack of integrity.

Yeah, that one is weird! "It's a 70% album, but here's an extra arbitrary 29% because it has elements that make music, and 1% because I like this album better than other albums, even though I dislike half this album!" :lol:

No way is TSoP a terrible album. It's easily the least of Death's discography though, and considering I can look objectively at the album now that I'm long out of my teenaged Death fanboy era it's no more than a 60% on a good day (although the songs that stuck with me from that period like Scavenger of Human Sorrow and Flesh and the Power it Holds I will always love forever).

My own review for the album is long out of date, but to this day the song I play to check if my bass is in tune is Spirit Crusher. It's their least consistent album and it's just such a massive departure from something like Leprosy that it's easy to call it their worst album, but there are still some really good songs on it.

Eh, the vocals irk me so much on that album. It pretty much ruins the listening experience, to be honest. Also, there is far too much wankery for my liking, and frankly, the production isn't too good either, being too processed for my liking. Death's albums from Human onward largely share these flaws, but to a lesser extent than TSoP.

Oh, and the 'Painkiller' cover is the worst cover I have ever heard by a major band.
