So, I've been requesting a review of this album for just about 3 or 4 years now, and it still hasn't got a single one. Would one of you lovely, lovely reviewers with a much better grasp of review writing than I've ever possessed please review Hateform's Sanctuary In Abyss? It is readily available to anyone with a subscription to Spotify, and is also available on Youtube, although not through an official channel belonging to either Hateform or Spinefarm Records. It's also available on iTunes, I assume for a pretty low price. It's quite a shame that a band like Hateform can release a top-shelf (obviously in my opinion) album, and 4 years down the road still not have a single (positive or negative) review on it. It would please me immensely to read any sort of review on it. Thank you very much, in advance.

Just for reference: https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Hateform/Sanctuary_in_Abyss/365161

I'd like to request reviews of our debut album: https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/D ... ker/678884

Album purchase link: https://geo.itunes.apple.com/us/album/s ... &app=music

https://doctordementia.bandcamp.com/releases

Background info if you care:

Doctor Dementia is the brainchild of singer Brian Johnson, of New Britain, Connecticut, who was inspired by a love of classic horror films and a multitude of macabre musicians including Mercyful Fate, King Diamond, Ghost, Cradle of Filth, Alice Cooper and The Misfits (to name a few). Johnson met guitarist and keyboard player Joshua Carrig (Morte McAdaver) of Blacksoul Seraphim and formerly of Sorrowseed and Pandora's Toybox, at one of his shows in New York. He became a fast fan of Morte's dark and peculiar brand of music and proposed a collaboration. The two then recruited drummer Rick Lowell, who played in Morte's other endeavors. The album was produced in Massachusetts at Stillwork by Benjamin Jon, who also performed additional instrumentation. The album's grotesque cover art was created by McKel Supreme of Night & Day Anime Studios of New York, whom Johnson had formed a vile alliance with since high school.

The album begins with an intro track in which Maestro Morte McAdaver, welcomes the listener to a sinister carnival - the Bleakshow. There, he will tell them the terrifying tale of Doctor Dementia, which is set during the late 19th Century in a village in Eastern Europe.
"Doctor Dementia, as he is called by those who now fear him for his mad experiments, was once a respected Doctor working out of a local mental asylum," said Johnson. "He fell in love with 'Morta', the name the villagers gave to a nurse tending to the dying and the dead. Together, they began searching for a means to conquer death. However, Morta was married to the asylum head Doctor Samuel who abused her and his patients viciously. She came to Doctor Dementia for protection, but when Samuel discovered her unfaithfulness he had her poisoned and then blamed the doctor. Doctor Dementia was tried and found to be insane as well as guilty of sorcery. He was then put into Samuel's care, where he was tortured daily under the pretense of attempting to cure him. However, Morta's will dictated that she be buried under specific circumstances that would keep her well preserved in case she could ever be resurrected. Now, Doctor Dementia plans to escape from the asylum, bring his love back from the grave and exact his vengeance upon those who condemned him."

Johnson said that this passion project had been 'in the works' since roughly 2009. He intends it to be a tribute to those artists who inspired his creativity and hopes that it will allow him, in some small way, to leave his own mark on the genres.
"If I am able to produce at least one metal album and at least one horror film before I die, I can die happy," he said.

Today, the Estonian thrash metal band Tankist unleashed their debut full length album “Unhuman” onto the world, officially described by the band as “nine stabbing thrash metal tracks that are led by the spirit of old-school, saying fearlessly what's wrong with the modern world, injected with adventurous violence and miserable thoughts. The hundred riff long journey surges along the edge, staying true to the principle: “fucking-fist-in-the-face songs, brutally honest whole””.

Check the album out on Bandcamp and if you'd like to review it, please PM me to get a download link for unlimited listening time (Bandcamp gives you three free spins of each song). www.tankist.bandcamp.com

Hello,

We would like a reviewer to review the latest album of Morvigor. The album is called Tyrant.

Other reviewers compared us to Urgehal, Satyricon, Watain, Pink-Floyd, Dissection and Goatwhore.
So if you're interested in the task please contact me or the band at [email protected].

The album can be streamed from Bandcamp. Reviewers can get a free digital version if you contact us.

Every review that is submitted to Metal Archives will get a physical copy of the album.
We don't care about the score or rating, every submitted review gets a physical copy.
This will keep the reviews unbiased, what we think is very important.

Well, another Review Challenge has come and gone, and Hateform's Sanctuary in Abyss still doesn't have a single review, which is majorly disappointing. If anyone has the time, please try it out. I would so love to read others thoughts. Again, it's available for free on Spotify, and I recall seeing it on iTunes if that's your thing.

Wanderer of the Waste - Voyage Through Obscurity EP. A one man metal project of mine that I started in 2014 when I first started playing guitar and needed a creative and adventurous outlet. The near 18 minute title track features a guest solo from Derek DiBella of Isenblast/Demon Bitch/White Magician too if you're into that sort of thing. I know I am. Many thanks to anyone who takes the time to let this one sink in and review it. :headbang:

Whelp, time from some truly shameless self-promotion. My former band Frost Giant recently put out their first LP "The Harlot Star" a little over a week ago, so if anybody is in the mood to hear some bizarre, spacey, borderline ambient melodic death/folk metal with the occasional hardcore twist, feel free to give it a go, I contributed to the recording and songwriting prior to exiting the band. The album is on Spotify for those with a subscription, and the link to the MA page is below, thanks for indulging me, I'm going back to being hungover on my vacation to Kharkiv:

I expected the new Therion output to make a huge impact but I haven't read that many reviews on it and there are none on the archives so far. Since I wasn't able to listen to this album yet and would like to have some more opinions on it, I would really appreciate it if those who have listened to it could write a review. Thanks!

Hey there to you all here in the Metal Archives,

I was debating whether or not I would/should send in my bands new album for review here (mainly because there are so many great bands I've found over the years reading through here) and here I am submitting our new album!

We're called Bloodletter, we're from Chicago and we just released our new album "Under the Dark Mark". You can find it here at:
https://bloodlettermetal.bandcamp.com/

Hope you all enjoy it, and like it (or dislike it enough) to review it!

Cheers,

-Pete

Hey there!
My band Antilles from Münster in Germany has just released our debut album "The Intricate Path of Creation" a few weeks ago. The genre is thrash/death metal with some progressive influences. We would be happy to get any kind of feedback, so if anyone of you nice people were so kind to give it a listen and write a review that would be super awesome and we would extremely grateful!
Thanks in advance!

Someone review the last three Morningstar albums. Because they deserve it. Would do it myself, but I kind of suck. There's only one of their early EP, where the reviewer is so disappointed that it doesn't sound like fucking Baptism or Behexen. Drool.

Hey everyone,

I'd really appreciate it if someone could take some time out and review some of my Funeral Doom project, Great Cold Emptiness. I just released a long awaited debut. If you like Blackened and Cinematic Funeral Doom with an atmospheric and pagan/esoteric twist, then give it a shot. Vocals done by Meghan from Crown of Asteria. The other releases I have are an EP with a singular title track that's cataclysmic and very dirge like, gathering influence from death/doom artists as well as synth/keyboard and guitar work inspired by Skepticism. The earliest release I have is a very lo-fi, personal, nature worship themed demo "Violet Mist & Infrared Stars." I wrote it when I was 16. Thanks for the support!

So I am currently reviewing albums from Anathema's metal years and I feel like I want to review 'Eternity' but I already reviewed it through my previous username. Do I have to delete the old review and make another review through the current username I'm at right now or am I allowed to make a second review for the album? My previous profile is punkmetalhead.

I listened to this, and while it was pretty solid, it reigns along a lot of influences I'm less familiar with and not really into, so I don't want to write a biased review. I'm sure plenty of others could dig this.
