I'd love to read a review of Cannibal Corpse's Gore Obsessed by autothrall. He seems to speak highly of that period of Cannibal (Gallery-Gore), but hasn't reviewed Gore Obsessed. I feel like that is one of their more underrated albums, so it would be interesting to see what he thinks.

I originally skipped over that album, as someone else had covered it on my home site. But I will write something up for it in the coming week and post it here at the M-A. My feelings on it are not in opposition to your own.

(Update: I haven't forgotten. Just had a pile of new stuff to cover.)

I'd really like some reviewers who like the gothic metal of After Forever to review this album, since it's the new project of Floor Jansen. I'm curious to how other people think about it.

Did anyone ever bother listening to Manowar's debut re-recording? I find it a bit weird that after four months there still isn't a single review for it. Stuff like Exodus' "Let There Be Blood" had a number of reviews right away.

Surprised that nobody, not even fans of the band, not even fans of the band's recent output, had any interest a release so completely inconsequential? :P

Kawir, Necromantia, Varathron, Rotting Christ, Burial Hordes, Stutthof, Thou Art Lord? That sort of Hellenic black?

Sounds like a fun idea, and I'd probably discover a few things along the way. Going to be tackling Florida death for a few months, but after that I might very well take up this suggestion.

Great review. It definitely does the album justice. The only thing I disagree with is saying that Savage Butchery isn't that catchy. Besides Pit of Zombies, it is the catchiest song, in my opinion. Still, a great album and great review!

Post subject:  Baked Bomb

I lived in Hiroshima, Japan for a while and a technical death metal (?) band called Baked Bomb released their first album and are touring in Japan for it.
They're pretty proud of their 7-string guitars/5-string bass. If anyone wants to review their album, maybe get out a good (or bad) word out for them that would be awesome. Check out their myspace
www.myspace.com/bakedbomb
and if you're interested let me know if I can try and send you the album.

Darkness Over Depth - The Hidden Woodland

can be downloaded here:

This band from China makes pretty cool music. The term melodic dark metal does not really cover what is going on here. Symphonic, folk, Ayreon-inspired progressive parts etc.

If anyone is interested in writing a review just let me know via email:

I primarily focus on writing reviews for 80s releases and more specifically thrash, speed and power. The next in line is Apollo Ra's peach of a debut called "Ra Pariah".

autothrall and gutterscream are two reviewers whom I regard very highly. Most of the albums I've written reviews for are also covered by these two.

Post subject:  Re: Request-a-Review Thread

Since autothrall has such a love affair with releases he considers pointless cash grabs, I'd like to see him review Incantation's "Upon the Throne of Apocalypse". That completely pointless release could stand a negative review (I'd write one if I were ever in a reviewing mood anymore.) He's on a USDM roll lately anyway, so it should only be a matter of time until he hits Incantation's discography.

How do i write a review?

Loki, go to the album you wanna review, click the Tools tab, and click write a review.

This is a good piece of advice from a purely technical point of view.

HOWEVER!

If you wish to write a review, write one and copy-paste it into the window. DO NOT try to write one directly into it, it will either end in tears when you lose it due to a time-out of your login, or you'll end up submitting undernourished crap that only wastes your and the moderator's time and gets rejected. Put some thought and effort into it, and after that, use Terri23's procedure.

Pretty please.

I wouldn't mind knowing what someone thought of my Doom Metal album Auaesuve - Displaced and Uncharted if anyone has any review-worthy opinions about it, good or bad. Might be interesting hearing someones take on it. I don't have anymore copies of it though.
