Hello there,
we are Stranger, playing deathgrind.

We just self-released our first album Self-imposed Exile (on 1 April 2019 officially on CD) and would be really grateful to get reviewed on M-A!

Is there a good soul willing to support good underground metal? ;-)

Thank you, cheers

The band is A Flock Named Murder, and the album is An Appointed Time. It's an amalgam of black metal, post metal, death metal and doom.

Influences: Agalloch, Neurosis, Cult Of Luna, The Ruins Of Beverast, Drudkh, Immolation

I'm listening to this for the first time today. I quite like it but will digest it over a couple more listens. Unless someone else writes a review first, I'll definitely do it for the challenge in June.

Just a quick question. (Two, actually.) Is it your band? Is there a particular release you're trying to promote and get reviewed? I see that nothing except the self-titled has been reviewed. I'm willing to spend time with a couple of releases, but probably don't want to start with the remix one.

Which one is actually Alpha Drone 2, as such? Heaps of random singles and shit on your bandcamp.

The second album is For Ana from 2015, it's a bit crummy since it's one of the first things I recorded after coming out of hibernation, but I'm also very fond of quite a few parts, especially the title track. The singles and stuff are all on the two compilations, Coal to Ash and Ash to Coal. I've had a third album completely written for a while and it's far better than any previous material but I'm still working up the patience to go record it all.

If someone is hunting down virgin albums to review i'll drop here the ultra-overlooked Kosmokrator by Spite Extreme Wing, wich is a tour-de-force of epic riffs that will probably be remembered only by the ten people who bought it... I would be happy to see it reviewed :)

Even nearly ten years on, Festival of Mutilation has only gotten (stupidly gushing) reviews from me. It's be better to see how the field plays things out with this band and I hope maybe some folks here would like to try the band out.

I hope some of you guys can give their first album, 'Gods of Infernal Desolation', a chance. It's available from me to reviewers by request. Just throw me a PM and I'll give you a Google Drive link.

Also, the band's final album, 'Indiscipline' is available on bandcamp (https://festivalofmutilation.bandcamp.com)

This is a zero budget band that deserves a shitload of love. Please give these badass Balkan boys their tech death due.

Would definitely appreciate if my Atmospheric Black/Funeral Doom Metal debut got a review. For fans of Kauan, Mesarthim, Elysian Blaze and Shape of Despair with an Americana and New England aesthetic and twist on it.

My band Pyreworks was finally accepted today, and our debut album would be great to tackle for anyone currently participating in the review challenge. It's available on Bandcamp, Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, you name it. except Soundcloud.

I already requested a review when the album was coming out a few months ago, but no one replied.
Asking for a second (and last) time;

any reviews for Oppression's latest full length would be largely appreciated.

For fans of street punk / oi! + black metal hybrid

thanks!

I would improve my best doing the review, since they mix two genres that fit perfectly IMO.

Hey thanks

It's weird how you say (almost) only good things, and then slap a 67% note?
but it's very nice nonetheless thank you

67% Is a really good note, if the album were a bit longer, just that would totally drop a 75% or more!

Come on man, just is necessary 33% to reach the 100%. 67% is a lot :)

So another review challenge went by without anyone caring about the last Godflesh album, but I'm actually kind of curious about it, but not curious enough to listen to it, just curious enough to read a review for it.

I've had a listen and it's...not that interesting. Not groundbreaking, not really cool, not that special. Maybe this is why there's no reviews.

Hi everyone!
I'm part of a progressive metal band from Belgium, called Omnerod. We released our second album, Arteries, a few days ago. It's quite influenced by bands and artists such as Opeth, Between the Buried and Me, Leprous, Devin Townsend or Enslaved. I'd be super happy and curious to read anyone's review about it, or even some casual feedback! Below are some youtube and bandcamp links for a free, full album listen. Thank you so much in advance!

Sorry if my reviews are too short compared with others, I try not to bore the readers with a testament.
In my opinion, a review must explain a lot of an album directly, I try to make shorter, "easy-readable" reviews, maybe they're small talking about the amount of paragraphs, but of course, being short does not mean it doesn't take time, I'll try to embrace the most of the explanation little by little.

TheLoneForest wrote:

Of course I liked it! It's really difficult to me founding a metal band that I don't like.. Maybe is because I don't listen to metal that I don't like (? Sure, there are shitty bands that should not exist that I have listened (inevitably), I should do a lots of "acid" reviews from those bands as well...

I recently added myself to the Archives. Anyone interested in doing a review of my "Explode the Commode" EP?

https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/L ... ode/779632

It's sort of a groovy death n' roll/alt-metal thing that was kind of conceived as a joke.

Was that "oh crap" sample in the beginning of "Fecal Obstruction" from Metalocalypse? Either way, I can squeeze out a shitty review sometime soon for you.

Anybody wanna review this "gem"? An attempt at reviving the Norwegian gothic metal sound, but in fact they sound more like symphonic black metal. Can't decide whether they are passable or extremely cheesy. Also, the female vocalist's voice and image are...interesting.
