I have a band in the archives. I released an album a while back, in March. Since then, the other member left, and I'm now unsigned, but I would really appreciate it if someone would review the album for me. I'm interested in seeing what other people think of it.

Here's the band: http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=88252

Here's the album: http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=147499

Here's the album file: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=X6ITYZ00

If I find some time I may give it a try, indeed.

I'm slammed with work for the next two weeks. I won't be hounding the archives for a review. Even still, thanks.

I've been quite enamoured with VRR's work of late. This one in particular entertained the living hell out of me, and I always make excited little giggling noises wholly unbecoming of one bearing the title 'Metal Lord' when I see his work in the queue:

This line: ...However, for the sake of getting this review published as a warning to real Metal fans I have been asked to bite the bullet and attempt an actual evaluation..." is his acknowlegement to me as I rejected his first draft because it was a lot of build up and little analysis, plus he capitalized metal.

It's much better now.

I would like to see a good review for Xibalba - Ah Dzam Poop Ek. They play raw oldschool black metal with a very distinct and unique Mayan touch.

Do you honestly really "dislike" it? It is strange and it took me a few listenings to get it, but I think this album is pretty good. (even though those are not the words I would use to describe it).

I'd be interested in knowing what droneriot thinks about ordo ad chao...

That would be a interesting one... 13 reviews 90 %.. uuuh.. for this record? Perhaps you should lay your hands also on the Alcest one, as I expect a lot of fanboyish tendencies there; 2 reviews 100 % at the moment.

I don't know about the Alcest, and I'm not a mayhem fan ( that is: I'd rate deathcrush 75, and DMDS 85, these releases are not in any way perfect), and the latest mayhem release I had listened to was Medialonum capta est (Maniac fuining the whole thing).
So, Ordo ad Chao is an album I don't really enjoy, but I think it is nevertheless a great cd.

Hey Droneriot, are we gonna get the other installments to the 'forgotten gems of germany' series of reviews anytime soon?

Hey, would anyone happen to be interested in reviewing my band's album; Immaculate - Thrash, Kill 'n' Deströy?

Its available for download free of charge from www.immaculatethrash.com, and I would love to get some feedback on it, especially from some of the more well-known/respected review writers on M-A.

I think if more people reviewed it here, the average rating would probably go down even further.

..In other words, the Berzerker suck.

Dissimulate is an awesome album. Still, not 90% material. I don't like much else by them though, they get really repetitive.

Only one review for Mirrothrone - Carriers of Dust? Mirrorthrone are a little bit like Wolves in the Throne Room, but more experimental, with (imo) higher quality production, musicianship, composition, etc. Just a great band. And to top it off, it's a one man band! Crazy...

Yeah it's a pretty good CD, but they are no way like Wolves in the throne Room whatsoever.

Maybe it's just the four-song album thing...

Probably. I like both of em a lot, and while I also like Mirrorthrone a bit more, it's ahrd to say that it's better because IMO both bands are trying to do a totally different approach. The compositions on Carriers of dust are amazing, though.

I have 5 songs up on my myspace account thingy. If you have the time check my songs and tell me what you think.

Go here to listen:

www.myspace.com/wervolf

It will start out with the song "Black Metal Warriors" which is very much influenced by German thrash and Old School First Wave BM.

I'd like to see that too, I was thinking of writing one myself. They're an excellent band, they deserve recognition for their music.

Could someone else PLEASE review some Nadja? There's eleven reviews on that page, 9 of which are mine. There are a few uploads of them within the metal download thread.

I guess I just feel guilty giving so many glowing review to this band without any opposition, or indeed any sort of different opinion. If you like your doom, please give them a listen and bash/praise them!

Limbonic Art... three album all of them have 100% :nono:
Their music is not bad, but perfect? Hardly... reminds me on the Stielas Storhet review I saw today (90% ... for what?).

Is anybody in the mood to adjust the scores a bit?

I'd only rate their earliest stuff with a rating above the 90s, but I'm too burnt out for their other stuff right now :P

Can someone review anything from this band?

Let me hear the ridicule of this band. Please!

I can't wait to laugh my ass off.

I'm working on the first album, but the rest is too boring for me to download.

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=99177
http://www.mortiferia.com/
are searching, according to their website, for someone to review their music. I am not that into Gothic and the music that I heard is not somthing that pleases me ... or better said: I would have a lot to criticize and it would not be a nice review. See the one I had written for Andrarakh.

and I am also a little bit tired of reviewing bad produced music and to write harsh reviews... I wrote enough of this kind during the review-challenge.

Many bad albums are getting praise these days.

I still think the new Mayhem is the worst case.

And now someone even wrote a positive review for that shameless insult Forgotten Woods call their new album.
