Since hells_unicorn really hates grunge but weirdly enough makes an exception when it's close enough to metal, I'd like to see him review a Melvins album. (it probably doesn't hurt that they're far, far more complex than most other grunge bands)

Primordial - To The Nameless Dead

7 reviews with an average of 98 percent ... this can't be right.

It's pretty damn close.

Really? I've only heard Bullhead but that album felt really lazy and random, and I didn't get much from it. Inoffensive background music, but nothing more. Was I looking to the wrong album?

Yes. Later on in their career, I think starting with Houdini, they started going in a more prog-rock-oriented direction.

My band: Roses Bleed Thorns. Someone should review our new demo which is located at www.rosesbleedthorns.com
The demo also exists in physical format, namely a cd, so if you really want something to hold while listening to it, I can send it to you. Particularly if you live somewhat close to Finland :-)

Someone in the mood for a Civil Defiance review? All the music can be downloaded from the band's homepage in 320 kbps. CD is different than a lot of bands as their music consists of influences from a variety of genres.

I request a positive review for (N)utopia by Graveworm.
Someone bought is acceadetly and gave it a really poor review, which bumps the average down so much, it is really discouraging, I would do it, but I suck at writing reviews. Right, Napero?

I'll give it a review, I am just starting out at reviewing and I want to review albums I haven't listen to yet. But yea you might want someone else to review it too.

EDIT: Is there a way you can send me link to download them because I use the internet at my library and don't have headphones that work good. I would like to listen to it at home. I would have you mail me a copy but I live in the US so I know shipping would be a bitch.

Id like to have someone review one of my demos that have recently been released, if you are interested in black metal they can be downloaded here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BVHA7M3O
In return I could possibly review something of yours.

I will take the deal. There is something I like to see an additional review on. Don't worry, no extreme stuff. I though about this one:

Have you heard it? It's fucking amazing. I don't think that the gathering wilderness deserved 9 reviews higher than 98% out of 10. But To The Nameless dead does.

I'd like to see Noktorn, hells_unicorn or caspian review a Deathcore album. Any Deathcore album. Just want to see what those two have to say about this loathsome genre.

Noktorn has reviewed many a deathcore album. Yet you say "those two", so I assume you're referring to caspian or h_u primarily?

I have listened to the stuff on MySpace, I lost track of the band after the quite good Spirit ... album, and the music is certainly good, but not worth such a high score... overrated. The same can be said of Tyr.

While I would give neither album anything close to 98%, the latter one is a definite improvement over the former, and I was positively surprised by this.

I think that since their first few they've become a fairly original sounding band. Gathering wilderness was good, but nothing was really great other than Coffin Ships, I feel that at least 4 tracks on To The Nameless Dead are as good if not better than that track.

Their one of those "everything works well together" bands. Where there isn't really a standout instrument, but it all works together well. And the newest is pretty much perfect in that regard. Not to mention the vocals are drool worthy.

Of course this all has an implied IMO.

Yep, Noktorn's reviewed a lot of it, most positive. I know for certain that he likes Annotations of an Autopsy and Waking the Cadaver and bands like that too.

Hells_Unicorn hates metalcore/groove and doesn't like death metal, so I can't see that one working out.

Caspian also doesn't like metalcore, except early Killswitch I believe.

Does NOBODY like 'The Unspoken King'? I downloaded it and it wasn't bad, definately above average. I'm not in a good position to review it though, anyone gonna take up the challenge?

Would someone mind reviewing the band Thulr? There is a free download of the demo on the Thulr website.

[Edit]- You know what. Forget that. Could one review the album when it comes out in a month or two? Unless you don't mind reviewing the demo of course.

It doesn't help that the band in question is Cryptopsy.

I might be interested in flaming a "Job for a Cowboy" album, provided I didn't have to pay money to hear it. The closest thing I have right now is a review of The Berserker's "Animosity", which is mostly positive, albeit it's a grindcore album. As for Death Metal, I've changed my tune on most of the late 80s and early 90s stuff, check my review for Death's "Individual Thought Patterns", I'm also preparing for a review of Darkthrone's "Soulside Journey", which will also be pretty positive.

My god, I cannot get through Suffokate's album Oakland without vomiting. Thus, I feel I cannot properly review it since I haven't heard the whole thing. Anybody think they can put up with it long enough to rip it a new one? I will eventually, but I just can't ethically let it stay on the site with no warning as to how ungodly shitty it is.

hahaha, I'm intrigued and frightened... I'll have to try and 'locate' this one/

Edit: Bah, couldn't find it in 5 minutes of searching, my will to help out is spent. You'll have to fight through the vomit to write it yourself.

My childish complaint: how come no one has done a whole single review for a Katharsis demo? Okay, I'll give my best shot for Into Endless Chaos and Terror, Storm And Darkest Arts. But people, this is a serious call to arms to the tr00 side. Doesn't such an awesome band deserve the effort? Not to mention Svest, who bear only a few reviews.

I don't really like deathcore but I find it hard to really hate it, it's shallow and stupid and full of jumpdafuckup-ness but that's all it really aspires to be, you know? Perhaps there's some particularly pretentious deathcore bands out there that are easy to hate; I haven't seen any. I heard Job For a Cowboy and thoroughly disliked it, but I can't really get riled about it.

While looking for some lyrics on the Bathory page, I noticed something rather strange .. "Nordland I" has a rather impressive eight reviews here while "Nordland II" has but one! Why this odd discrepancy? Someone who cares about latterday Bathory a little more than I do should really give this latter album some good coverage.

I do not write on these bands for the same reason other users on this board avoid them, too.

and on the issue of Metallica: I sold all releases I had when they released Load and I have since then never touched any of their old releases nor listened to any of their old songs. I bought St. Anger out of curiosity.

I do not like the vocals of Halford... annoying. Maiden bores me to death and Manowar is a band I cannot take serious.

You get the idea?
