Something tells me Lord_Of_Diamonds is one of those people that still unironically shares those "You say 'Miley Cyrus', but I say 'Judas Priest'. 95% of teenagers listen to fake music. Be one of the 5% that listen to true heavy metal!" copypastas that used to infest Facebook a decade ago.

Although he'd probably think Judas Priest is shitty because they don't sound ballsy enough, and then brag about pirating Painkiller and deleting it because he hated it so much.

Yeah as someone who say, 4-5 years ago said and cared about stuff like that, it's really embarrassing in retrospect.

How about instead of throwing ad hominems, you tell me actual reasons why I’m wrong? There can’t be that many Infant Annihilator fans on this forum.

I assure you, that whatever I say now about music is how I felt about it 4-5 years ago, and it will be how I feel in another 4-5 years. I started this “discussion” off calmly, and look how it devolved. It seems like I can’t say ANYTHING on the forums without everybody jumping down my throat. I’ve tried to convince people before that I’m serious, and why people don’t buy it is beyond me.

I have nothing more to say, lest the mods slam me for derailing the thread.

I love how the first three reviews submitted for Infant Annihilator are in the 70-100% range. I have no intention of checking out this band but I kinda want this trend to keep going.

Though soaked to the gills (and beyond) as it's been raining dogs, cats and hamsters here on the wet coast of late, am rather thrilled, as well as injected with renewed vigor (not dope), thanks to news regarding RAM's latest, The Cro-, I mean, Throne Within i.e. TP's great (if not compact and to the point) write-up in its vocally alluring regards...Chapeau! (Actually, just this morn before logging in here I was musing on the Swedes whereabouts, as Enforcer (and Greyhawk, and Warbringer) are playing at the Rickshaw tonite. However, considering crowds and public act like immature trolls towards lone, solo minstrels, (notably kurbsyde ones) - will likely abscond, but still...it's worth a slight passage in the Forum annals. (Emphasis on the double "n", please!))

Cosmic1/2Urgespeed, y'all!

p.s. nice little ode to Midnight Spell, leaf...

P.P.S. Just gleaned, and dug, mainly for its off-kilter sardonic-ness, Felix666's Twisted Tales' Bringer of Woe piece.

I doubt anybody who you are arguing with here is a fan of Infant Annihilator, I'd never heard of them before seeing this discussion. Upon giving their latest album a spin, it's a slightly more generic rehash of Rings Of Saturn, a band that I admittedly enjoy from time to time, though are far from my favorite band.

Half of why you are getting railed on here is not because of what your opinions are, but how you are going about expressing them. I'll admit that I occasionally get ripped on here for some of my reviews, but getting overly combative isn't going to turn this into a rational discussion. I don't personally feel threatened by people liking styles of music I hate, though I will admit it gets a tad under my skin when those same people start obnoxiously shitting on my favorite music. Say your piece in your reviews and leave it at that, it's not your preordained mission to keep metal true.

Claiming Bart's Batushka is better than Derph's Batushka is the new crown jewel in kluseba's troll-review collection. You can't sell it as "personal tastes are entirely subjective and all" anymore when literally everything you put out is so clearly done so for the sole purpose of saying the opposite of everybody else.

The fact that kluseba even still reviews on here is essentially an act of trolling in and of itself.

Also the more I listen to Derph's new album the more I love it. Didn't expect it to be so much more harsh and hard-hitting than the debut.

Am rather perplexed by TP's colourful sentence, here, from his Void King i.e. "Roi du Neant" review:

The vocal performance has also broadened considerably, still grounded in a burly yarl yet offering a more flexible range, subtle restraint, and harsh backing as songs demand.

My hypothetical band name will now be the Burly Yarls, yo! ("Guttural Burlesque" is a further possibility, mind...)

Superchard did a good review for Morbid Visions - he made some very good points with that one.

Hey Lord_Of_Diamonds. It's spelled "sodomy".

Also, anyone that spells "brutal" as "br00tle" in 2019 is a chud.

To be fair I can't stand stuff like "vokills" either and even stuff like "ov" and "magick" that's common in song titles annoys me. Just use normal English like normal people.

About the “sodomy” misspelling: ever since seeing it spelled that way in a song title, I’ve spelled it like that on purpose.

About “br00tle”: I refuse to to use the term “brutal”, as that would imply that the music actually IS brutal. br00tle sounds the same, but represents the adjective that describes IA and their peers: heavy sonically, but absolutely awful musically.

Kind of like the legendary Bitterman referred to technical deathcore as “tek-deaf”, to avoid calling it an actual type of metal.

"Brutal" is from the Latin "brutus" which means dumb and stupid, perfectly accurate for all that type of stuff.

I will defend "magick" as a valid spelling but it's still pretty context dependent.

Wouldn't exactly call bitterman an example to follow.

It's an actual word, so it gets a pass from me. Doubly so when your lyrics are about pulpy sword and sorcery stuff.

I'm sure bitterman would greatly appreciate the admiration from someone who praises bands called Flatulated or Squidlord.

My favourite albums are Consvming Impvlse and the early works of Rvnning Wild.

I dunno, do Infant Annihilator go to the same school as Lord_of_diamonds?

Wow, I was just perusing i.e. going through past emails I'd missed or only glossed over, and here, last month, I beheld a request directly from Chaos Over Cosmos, from Raf. himself...

Thus, isn't it strange (or funny) how I inadvertently discovered them thanks to GC's erudite and pleasing review...(even 92%, while still a great score, feels a little low in the full-length's regards/however, yeah, the EP isn't quite up to par...).

*BTW I finally finished correcting/editing that long-suffering Duel write-up I promised y'all, and guess what?!

I du(e)ly hit the jackpot as it's exactly 777 words long! Haha...

Anyone out there still interested in tag-teaming complimenting reviews for Amulet's The Inevitable War? Granted, it's somewhat less riveting than the debut, yet rates roughly 95% or so, regardless)

I love that band and have had correspondence with a couple of the members, but I totally pronounce that W as a drawn out V Transylvanian-style.

Yes, I was first smitten with Ancient Vizdum on this obscure Up The Irons Tribute album to Iron Maiden (Vol.1) from a while back, as they did a ferocious, drumming enhanced cover of P-Slave...upon which I gleaned that frosty (covered) release of theirs...gritty, hardened and black, AV/W kicks ass and reminds me of this waggish Polish woman who, instead of saying "vacuum", would jolly-ly yawp "wacuum!"...

Oh, dug Felix 666 Urn write-up, particularly at the end, and regarding the Finns super strong affinity/inclination(s) towards black(ened) metal;

"However, the snotty attitude of the formation is beyond doubt as soon as Sulphur commands "on your knees" - and these are the first three words of the opener's lyrics. I admit that I do not kneel before my speakers, I am still sitting comfortably in my chair. I am simply too old for this kind of black thrash yoga. Nevertheless, Urn can count on me..."

I, as well!

Liked CHAIR’s write-up of Night Screamer! Although the EP sounds a tad shoddy, it’s really brought to like with enthusiasm and some novel twists of phrase. Wonderfully life-like and not at all over the top!

Good 'un, too. I've not heard the album myself but I have a feeling that I know exactly what it sounds like.

Edit: had to turn it off due to the dude's ridiculously OTT shrieking. Not at this time in the morning, please.

Thanks, man. And yeah, talk about being able to judge a book by its cover, hahaha.

Also caaaaaaaaaaalled it! Dude really gets on your nerves almost instantaneously. It really is kind of a bummer, cause the music itself is perfectly fine.

"Maiden on PCP" got a laugh out of me, in the context of the cover art and the ... unrestrained singer, that was pretty funny.

I liked that Riot City album a bit more than you did, especially going from my first to second listen, but man if that take still isn't accurate as all hell.
