i have this CD (strigaskor nr. 42 - blot) and i´m thinking about selling:
http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=14513
do you have any idea for how much i should sell it for?
think they and sororicide were the biggest deathmetal bands in iceland in early 90´s.
many thanks.

But on this release they didn't play death metal anymore, or am I wrong? I have the Apocalypse split and it kick ass.

yes, it´s absurd! but this is an buy-it-now price so he probably will not get this for the cd. but still those cd´s have been sold for over 1000 usd which is also quite bizarre.

I doubt somebody from this forum will buy it at that price so I suggest you to put it on Ebay. I got mine for $10 Us dollars but that was quite long ago.

Can you read the notes? Not for sale! I was thinking about to set the buy it now price to even higher, but I'm waiting for offers sweatheart. It has no price, just there's no other forum where I can get enough for that, I saw 50 USD SERIOUS offer for the Sororicide:The Entity CD somewhere this year. F***ing serious, and that's what I call F**ing pathetic. Some ppl think that when they offer serious 66 bucks for the Yellow Goat Bathory or for the Flames of Hell LP it's serious. and when the owner refuse it he is pathetic. C'mon, sell me your 100 buck notes for 1 usd on ebay.

When the Burzum and Moonblood or even Mutiilation stuff is sells for over 1000... they are more than one times on ebay in every year. Keep searching for Sororicide!

agree, up to you what you put for buy-it-now price when people can bid or make offer.
i also have the entity CD and I wouldn´t sell it for 1000usd.
maybe 4600! :)
price is abstract, someone paid 144.000.000 usd for painting by klimt 2 years ago...

Honestly I don't give a flying fuck about it. It's this childish behavior of yours that pisses me off. LOOK AT ME!!!! I HAVE A SPARE COPY OF SORORICIDE!!! I HAVE IT, YOU DON'T!! Grow the fuck up! And to prove my point, everyone can just look at the pictures you put of Sororicide and Apocalypse and even Chronic Decay/Exanthema. You didn't have to put a picture of the 2 CDs, but you did so you can show the whole world that you have 2 of each. Pathetic...

And the fact that it sold for 2250 dollars only proves that there's a lot of dumb people out there, just like you.

Ha ha ha.

The buyer asked me to prove that I have it. I told him that I have two of each I'm selling. Picture please. Right then.
I took all those CDs and I made a photo.
When you put your The Choir of Vengeance CD to this forum for trade here (as far as I remember it was you), and you wanted The Entity against it, I PMd you that it's not equal. Then you blamed me that you'll got so much for that, since it's rare. I PMd you again that you will be lucky if you get 100 for that. Vuvr put 100, and a polish collector got it for 102,5.
I think you can envy, but 2200 USD is just 22 times more than 100. And watch the next auction for this CD pretty.
You ARE pathetic!
Please go to HELL.

When I put the Choir of Vengeance CD for trade I put Sororicide as one of my wants, but I never said that I wanted to trade it one on one. I simply stated that it was one of my wants. Then you told me that COV was worth nothing, and that you paid 5 or 10 bucks for yours, fair enough.

I put it for sale on eBay with a starting price of 1 dollar (not 5000) and it sold for 100+. Which proved that you were wrong about it not being worth anything.

I don't envy you I just pity you for being so pathetic. The fact that you even mentioned that Sororicide sold for 22 times more than my CD, only proves what I said about you being an attention whore.

LOOK AT ME!!! I HAVE 2 COPIES OF EACH!!! MY CDS SELL FOR $2200, YOURS DON'T!!! MOMMY LOOT AT ME!!!

Ohhh, and who are you marrying? The Flames of Hell LP you bought? Swedeath or Yosuke from NWN forum? uh?

You should use that money you got to pay for some English classes.

You just crossed the line pretty! I have a real life, and a real girlfriend. I paid 10 usd for the COV CD yes, and I told you that it worth not more than 100. What else could you put next to it to trade it for the Sororicide CD? Best of Aerosmith ?

And who are you marrying? :D

Mr. natural born english speaker, you should learn Hungarian AND Icelandic to be equal to me. In my language you should be in trouble!

This is quite an interesting thread. Could someone please explain to me what makes this CD worth over 2000 USD to somebody? I've had mine for about 10 years and it's a good, worthwhile CD, but there is just no chance in hell that the quality of the music makes it worth that much money. When I see things like this, I have to wonder what has happened to the mentality of today's metal fans. Do these people even know, or care, what they're buying? Something tells me the answer is no. Now, if "Show No Mercy" or "Darkness Descends" had only been limited to 500 copies, or some absurd number, one might be justified in paying such an enormous price...but Sororicide? It's definitely time for somebody to bootleg the CD if a legitimate label doesn't repress it.

@metalbrain. this is a good comment!

@Velvet_Creation: please start your own thread called "here i´m going to be an asshole" and write what you like. or, start a metal band! good way to let out your anger! :)

ok. I really don´t know why this hype is happening around the sororicide album. If someone is more knowledgeable about that please comment!!!

for me, the CD has some personal connection so it´s worth more than other metal CD´s.
few things I know that could be a part of the hype:
-the album was released in very few copies (around 500).
-the master is lost, so it will never be re-released or re-mixed/mastered.
-this is the band that started the deathmetal scene in Iceland.

The case is closed between me an VC.
About the hype... If any of you would try to find that CD (or LP), it's nearly impossible to find even in Iceland. The bandmembers doesn't have a copy, or only one. This is a cult band in Iceland, every teenager wants a copy of both the LP and the CD. Sadly it's sold out long time ago, and no more copy for sale or trade. The band Sororicide never sold their CDs outside of Iceland. They were the first Death Metal band in Iceland, and of course musically "The Entity" is not equal to "Show no Mercy" / "Altars of Madness" or whatever is known to be a "milestone" in the genre.
Their albums are rare (@eBay: OOP HTF) this is a fact. Not musically special, but for me it is. Morbid Saint is on eBay quite often (limited to 500, many ppl wants a copy, sells for over 100$, and it's a really good thrash), but waiting for a Sororicide or Flames of Hell to show up for sale it's a pain in the ass...
I'd be hapy to to invest all of my money to re-release those long lost gems, but FOH doesn't want to re-release it (they told it to me), and the master tape of The Entity is lost (Gisli of Sororicide told it to me).
Jose Luis of Temple of Darkness wanted to re-release it too.

Some albums will be left buried. That makes all of the ppl go nuts and wants to have a copy.

By the way there was a garage sale in Akureyri (north Iceland) only a few years ago where someone picked up the FOH LP for like 200 ISK which was like 2 USD at that time. Not too many ppl know that the third Nicolai brother is a worshipped artist, and his paintings are very highly sought after. Have you ever seen a photo of his works? Any website? No, there is nothing. The reason why the LPs are sells for 3000 USD or even more is because the collectors of the painter! Those collectors can spend a lot of money for their hobby and the music collectors have simply much less money for their hobby. We all know that the paintings can be very expensive! I guess the two third of those LPs are in painting-collectors, and the rest is in metalheads' collection. The sum of the LPs remains in mistery, somewhere between 100 and 500. Lucky is that human being who can hold a copy in his hands once in the life...

Lock 'em up, very tight
Left alone, in the night
Darkest dreams, we will paint
In the minds, of the saint

Lock up your children
From Destruction found
Lurking in their minds
The pain starts to pound

When at last, they awake
All sanity, we will take
Tortured souls, as they fell
Subject to, this living hell

FUCK YEAH :hail:

for getting back to the point where this thread started - i wouldn't say the strigaskor nr. 42 - blot cd would sell for more than 50 usd. and i wouldn't call it death metal.

thanks to emperor_zola for his explanation about sororicide and flames of hell. but nevertheless i don't get it why it sells for more than 1000 usd. there should be similar bands in nearly every country (the ones who start a new genre) and they aren't that sought after!?!

Last time it was solf for around 60 USD. _Warrior_ was the 2nd highest bidder for sure.

that's independent from the metalheads. Some bands/albums reaching cult status, for different reasons. Iceland is a small country (same size as Hungary), and only 300.000 ppl lives there. Not too many bands came from there. There were only a few. Only Sororicide released their album on CD, and their LP is equally rare, but I believe that their LP wouldn't sells for over 200-300 USD. I won mine 2 years ago for 78 USD on eBay!

And the Moonblood or Mutiilation LPs (limited to 100) are always goes for over 1000. Why?

Didn´t know the hype around FOH?! they where also from Iceland, right?

and you mentioned FOH artwork, the guy who made the paintings on the sororicide album is now the artistic director in the videogame Eve-Online:

Those collectors can spend a lot of money for their hobby and the music collectors have simply much less money for their hobby. We all know that the paintings can be very expensive! I guess the two third of those LPs are in painting-collectors, and the rest is in metalheads' collection. The sum of the LPs remains in mistery, somewhere between 100 and 500. Lucky is that human being who can hold a copy in his hands once in the life...
