Hey, we just released another Demo and really consider it a step up from our last one and would like some feedback on the sounds and songs. For fans of Black metal. Any kind of feedback would be appreciated. Cheers!

A new psychedelic blackgaze/progressive noise rock EP. In terms of structure and cohesion it's among my most solid and stable stuff. The term wall of sound doesn't do it justice though. It's a galaxy of sound. Not long either. https://ququmatz.bandcamp.com/album/the ... ng-days-ep

I kinda wish the guitars didn't sound so blatantly copy/pasted on the first song. There is an obvious break in continuity of the playing that it almost makes me think they aren't real guitars.

Didn't listen to any other tracks after that.

I kinda enjoyed this one. Maybe some guitar panning on the next release, but otherwise, I liked it. The tone was full enough to be satisfying without sacrificing the cold gritty classic black metal sound.

I'm not gonna disagree though I do think the others get better in that regard. I think this track is the best one https://ququmatz.bandcamp.com/track/the-madrid-codex

I will have to relisten on headphones later, but so far I like the mid level saturation. Has a very old school Dracula's castle on the hilltop sound, if that makes sense.

My musical project has just released a new single and I would appreciate some honest feedback. I'm hoping to release a full length later this year with a better version of this track on it, so I may take any advice on board for that. I'm also unsure of what genre to call this track, so suggestions would be great. My first album was supposed to be DSBM based, but didn't exactly fit that description and this is now even more far away from that genre.

This is my personal black metal Project, Ominous Torment, the lastest demo which for me is the best one in terms of songwriting and emotion. Expect only traditional black metal

I just released a demo with a new project and would definitely like some feedback on it. Genre is heavy metal with elements of doom and power.

Hello,

Back in July of this year, my band released our first E.P., and we are preparing to enter the studio in the next few months to record another one. It was our first release so it was certainly a learning experience for us, and it is not without it's mistakes, both on the production side and on our end. I would appreciate your honest feedback on both of those aspects, and I am open to suggestions that you may have regarding things we can do to improve on our next release. I'll post a link down below to our bandcamp for you to check it out and give me some feedback if you would like, the link is also in my sig along with a link to our youtube if you would prefer to listen to it there. Cheers and thanks in advance!

Just finished a new track called "Moon's Ghost". It's a metal instrumental with some ambient/symphonic elements. Thanks for listening.

I wrote some sort of instrumental black metal/funeral doom demo track over the last few days. I am interested in any kind of general feedback.

I like it. it absolutely needs some vocals. otherwise you need to cut it in half. i wish you had some actual tones going on with some real amps. because when it gets to the doomy parts it just falls apart tonally. there is no weight. there is no real soul drenching sorrow. just some sad ass amp sim trying to play slow with a sustain. it just lacks completely. literally if you even miced out a single 112 cab it would be better.
if somehow you did you edited the shit out of it and processed it to sound like garbage.

Thank you for the feedback. You are correct, I have just been using a digital amp sim with my guitar to get some ideas recorded. I am actually working on some lyrics for this project. This is my first real foray into writing doom metal, I will keep your advice in mind as I move forward. Thank you again!

I dunno what genre really to call this but if I had to specify it's probably along the lines of industrial/post punk/dub(step). Otherwise I think it has some of my most stunning production

Alright, I listened to all 8 and half minutes! Not the kind of music I normally listen to, but here are my thoughts...

- I love the name Trouble Salad, that's awesome. Probably my favorite thing about this.
- The mix/sound design is nice. Well-balanced, clear. Interesting sounds.
- I get that this is electronic music so it's supposed to be a bit repetitive, but I think you could move things along more. Not everything has to repeat 4 times, you can establish a theme or melody by going through it just once or twice, etc. Not everything has to be repeated at all. But I will say, it picked up a bit in places, and it's nice that the song has lots of different parts that don't all sound alike. Lots of variety.
- About halfway through there's an interlude that rambles. What I mean is, the song at that point doesn't seem to evolve so much as get bored with itself and start doing other things that aren't really related with what came before or after. I don't sense a thematic connection. But it doesn't last long and then we're back to the show.
- Reminds me a bit of early Mr. Bungle (which I don't like but many other people do, so maybe that's what you were going for?)
- The solo bass part near the end has a little click in its attack. I'd love to see this given more character somehow. Right now it sounds like a technical glitch but you could tweak it a little and make it sound organic, like popping a piece of kelp or something.
- Overall I think you have a lot of interesting stuff to work with here, and the production quality is quite good, but it doesn't really come together as a song. Maybe try mining it for parts and making a few other songs out of it?

Thanks for sharing!

I have a bit of a song preview I'd like some feedback on.

Anything that comes to mind about the sound production, I'm all ears. Trying out some new techniques and I would like to see how they are panning out.

Wish my production sounded that good!

Originally I had a comment about the EQ of the guitars in the intro before the vocals come in, but I think I changed my mind upon subsequent listens.

What's that vocal mic setup? Looks like you've clipped a piece of fabric over it like a tent?

That's exactly what I did. :D

My setup is nothing more than just a Shure pg58 (poor man's SM57) bypassed through an FX board into my DAW. The cloth is my pop filter, which is held up by a wire coat hanger.

Man I really liked it! Great riffs, really catchy. I just have two suggestions; firstly, when the second guitar comes in during the first riff it's really hard to hear it so maybe up them in the mix; and secondly, it's a little on the short side so maybe adding another riff to break up the first riff would work well. That being said I love both the transition to the second riff and the second riff. I'm sure you have plans to add vocals too.

I think it sounds great! I'm just going off of my own subjective view though, and I'm not a producer or anything, but yeah I liked it. Hey does your band have a name? Or is it just all you on there doing a one man band thing?

going off what you start listeners off with...
the drums i like i figure it's samples with just tons of reverb . i like what you are doing with the slow builds but to me it takes too long for the builds basically to me it seems like everything is introduced in 8 counts and when it's just building upon the original basis it gets tedious to me where I have to start skipping ahead a bit. the clarinet sounds nice but doesn't match the backing to me. but I figure this is all exploration for yourself. does remind me of some mr bungle or naked city where we can do everything so we do. but in a much longer format which is what i don't care for as much. like if it was all the same ideas presented in like half the time i'd be all about it so much more.

I seem to get that a lot about the length, sometimes things do go on a little bit long due to the way the layers sync up. During those parts I like to go wild with the soundscapes beneath all the building although I would agree that there are some moments here and there that could be cut short

Hey guys, here's an original death metal song of mine that I finished a few months ago and figured would be good to share here. I'm doing all the guitars, bass (which is actually guitar pitch shifted an octave down), and vocals with a friend of mine handling the drum programming. Let me know what you think. The production is pretty rough so I'm mostly looking for feedback on the songwriting and playing featured on it, but any feedback is welcomed.

Please critique "Song1"

Let me know if you think the song is lame, mediocre or amazing

No vocals on the track with drumming that was made on the recording software
