Does anyone legitimately know if the bass on this clip is the bass from the album? Did someone really enhance the bass that was buried in the original release, or did they record the bass and add it? I can make a well educated guess, but I am wondering if there is someone who knows about producing/editing music that knows if this is actually the bass from the recording? Thanks in advance.

I scrolled through some of the comments on Youtube and someone had posted this up. I often wonder about the majority of those videos where the bass is singled out. There are quite a few of Cliff Burton and I wonder if it's really the recorded bass from Master of Puppets, or if someone recorded themselves playing the basslines. Unless a cymbal crash slips through, it's hard to tell.

I was under the impression they extracted the bass tracks from Guitar Hero: Metallica, which used the original masters. The game needs individually isolated tracks since it produces an audio cue that cuts the track if you make a mistake. So any songs from that album included in the game uses the original bass track that was recorded by Newsted and subsequently drowned out by James and Lars.
