I've been playing with two bass drums for a while now, and want to switch to a double pedal to decrease my kit's footprint. Anybody know of some quality, relatively low-price double pedals that are sturdy and easy to play with? I'm not looking to play anything super-fast or stuff like that.

Iron Cobra are what I started with and used for a great deal. maybe those or the long board version of them called Speed Cobras. Those are good budget pedals.

I know some people like the DW9000 but I've never been a fan.

I currently use Trick Bigfoots.

You'd probably have better luck in a drum forum, there's not really enough traffic in this section. I have Pearl Eliminators, but even used they might be more than you want to spend.

Second-hand Iron Cobras are probably your best bet. Solid as a rock, and not too pricey - I got mine for about £120/$150ish.

I love my Pearl Eliminators, and have tried them against some DWs, Speed and Iron Cobras and something else maybe.

It's all personal preference, and you cannot test everything in the world unless you are a millionarie.

The good thing with Eliminators is that there are million ways to adjust it so it really can feel totally different just turned a couple of things here and there.

It took me a good while until I really found home with them, but right now, I love them so much.

I have 2x singles, and also a double pedal for live use. I will actually get myself another pair of doubles as a back-up in case my current double pedal gets lost or stolen, and I will mimic every little adjustment so I know I will always have the right settings in case something happens.

I'm guessing that's you? Some pretty solid playing there.

Getting back into drums after a decade-long break. I just picked up the Pearl Demonator and I'm loving it so far. It's the single-chain version of the Eliminators mentioned above, but it's pretty damn fast, sturdy as hell, and the longboards give you a ton room to play with different techniques. Supposedly it's the best mid-range pedal there is, but I've never played on any high end pedals so I don't have much to compare it to.

Rocka, what size are your bass drums? 16x18? The kit I picked up has a stupidly massive 24x20 and I cannot get it to sound good, it's just way too big.
