Hey guys. I don't have a lot of money or space, so I would like to get one amp for guitar and bass. I understand that playing bass on guitar amp is bad and guitar on bass amp is okay, but are there some bass amps that are better for both then others, especially when playing metal?

Edit: I changed my mind, I am getting two amps. Thank you for the input, ShaolinLambKiller and Dr_Fiemost.

Somewhere around 5000 norwegian kroner, which is about 500 US dollars.

I don't think mixing guitar and bass is a good idea, they're different beasts.
What about getting a couple of miniamps? You can get away with little more than 100€ each. I have a mini 10W Yamaha combo for bass and it's pretty decent for practicing without taking too much space.

Yeah really not sure what to recommend in that price range that you might be able to get in your area since I don't know what is cheap over there. I normally would say 80's peavey gear like a musician 400 or a bass 400 models. the bass one you can just get a distortion pedal and it'll be fine. a lot of earlier gear was meant to be used as one or the other. only later it was more specialized. more so it's the speakers you would have to pay more attention to. as combos... not sure if anything modern I'd recommend.
