Me and my dad want something to record directly to the computer. We already have an old school quarter inch tape recorder (a TEAC) and a mixing board (a RAMSA). We (or actually me, my dad has been using it for decades) want something that can easily and quickly record guitars and maybe drums. If anyone here knows about it, is it any good, and for what reasons. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

It's good, but you're basically paying for Pro Tools when you buy it, which is why it's so expensive. If you're really set on using a Pro Tools system, it'd be a good buy (though, so would the M-Audio Profire... though it does not come with Pro Tools, it is Pro Tools compatible). Otherwise... I'd say shop around for some other interfaces.
The MBox 2 itself is pretty solid - clean preamps and enough ins and outs for anything other than a full drumset. Like I said though, not worth it unless you're really set on using a Pro Tools system.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, we're pretty set on using Pro Tools, and we're probably not going to be doing actual drums for a while because my drummer plays drums, not us. He can help us out later. And no, I'm not in a band with my dad, we just both play music. Anyways, thanks for the help.
